McKinney's accusation is simple idiocy
Athens Daily News ^ | 4/18/02 | Dick Yarbrough

Our Ambassador to Outer Space has outdone herself this time. Cynthia McKinney, the loudmouth congresswoman from Georgia's 4th District, says President Bush may have received advanced warnings of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and chose to do nothing about it.

McKinney alleges the president was willing to sacrifice thousands of Americans lives in order to encourage a war and thereby benefit the defense industry. She asserts that the military response that followed the attacks has profited companies specializing in defense contracts, including the Carlyle Group, where President Bush's father is on the board.

On what does she base her charges? Nothing. After blathering her conspiracy malarkey to a radio station in Berkeley, Calif., McKinney later issued a statement saying: ''I am not aware of any evidence showing that President Bush or members of his administration have personally profited from the attacks of 9-11.'' The logical question, then, is why did she say it?

Her insane charges repulsed most of the Georgia delegation. Sen. Zell Miller called her comments ''loony.'' Rep. Johnny Isakson, from Georgia's 7th District, said McKinney ''demonstrated a total lack of responsibility.'' Tenth District Rep. Charlie Norwood suggested ostracizing her.

Some observers believe McKinney is playing to the voters back home. If partisan politics has stooped to this kind of low, then let me out of here. Her kind of behavior has no place in a time of national crisis. If she was trying to impress the home folks, why didn't she come back to Georgia and make her charges?

Maybe her daddy, state Rep. Billy McKinney, and his omnipresent bullhorn could explain to us why his baby girl thinks the president of the United States purposely allowed American citizens to be killed in order to enrich American corporations. This approach has been the Ambassador to Outer Space's modus operandi: Say something totally outrageous and then hide from the media and the voters, while Daddy runs around bellowing into his bullhorn and defending her indefensible actions.

I can only assume she and Daddy believe the clueless constituents of the 4th District will return her to Washington. Well, the gig may be over for the McKinney clan. An impressive candidate has made the decision to run against Madame Flap Jaw in the upcoming election. Denise Majette, a former State Court judge from Stone Mountain, is willing to endure the abuse the McKinneys are certain to heap on her and to give the 4th District some relevant representation for a change. Like the incumbent, Judge Majette is a black female. This fact is going to pose a problem for Daddy and daughter, who can play a race card better than Willie Nelson can sing ''Amazing Grace.'' But, trust me, they will find a way.

If McKinney does make it back to Washington to continue her legislative record of having done absolutely nothing worthwhile in 10 years, I will be anxious to see if she can wangle her usual spot on the aisle in order to shake President Bush's hand on national television as he walks in to deliver the State of the Union speech. My fantasy is that when she sticks her hand out next time and gives him that loopy smile of hers, the president will stop and cold-cock her right on her kisser in front of the world. Now, that would be some outrageous behavior I could go for!

She is like so many other elected officals, as soon as they get elected:

They are experts on everything

They forget how to tell the truth

Their most important thoughts are Me, Me. and whats in it for Me.

They can not stop talking, even when they have no idea what thier talking about.

And last but not but not least, Their brains go on vacation only to be taken over by their mindless rantings.

Her remarks raise the serious possibility that she may be mentally ill. If so, she holds a position from which her illness could result in great national damage.

What I have so far:

-this list-McKinney's Supporters--

-Some of McKinney's Supporters--

Cynthia McKinney in the Twilight Zone: Ask the victims of Robert Mugabe

-Comprehensive List of Terrorists and Groups Identified Under Executive Order 13224--

Normally I'd include that note to activists with "how-to mass email," but the talk show hosts have been doing the heavy lifting on this and talking about it all week. The public has no excuse for being uninformed about this malignant shill.

Judge Majette? Is this person a Republican or a Democrat? And, in this case, I would probably not care. This person deserves support!

Judge Majette ON THE ISSUES:

JUDICIARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT MATTERS
Gun Control

I am not an NRA member, but I respect the 2nd Amendment rights of all citizens who want to carry and use firearms in an appropriate and lawful manner. With rights come responsibilities. I support tough gun laws that provide severe penalties for people who abdicate their responsibilities by using guns to commit crimes or engaging in the unlawful trafficking of firearms. I also believe that it is reasonable to impose certain safety requirements, such as the requirement that each sale of a handgun include a child-safety lock, to protect our children.

FISCAL AND TAX POLICY
Repeal of the Estate Tax

We have a fundamental obligation to preserve the American dream for our children and grandchildren. The estate tax should be repealed. Families should not be penalized for their financial success. Our policies should encourage, rather than discourage, financial success. When we allow families to build wealth, it strengthens the community and insures that every generation leaves something more for the next generation. However, we should continue to provide incentives for estate beneficiaries to make large charitable, civic, religious, and/or educational contributions from estate proceeds within a certain period of time after the passing of the decedent.

JUDICIARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT MATTERS
War on Drugs

With so many of our nation's young men in jail for non-violent drug offenses, I am concerned that we have adopted and implemented a faulty policy on illegal drugs. From mandatory minimums to discriminatory enforcement, our policy is in chaos. I fail to see the wisdom in a society that has no problem locking its citizens in jail at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars per year, per individual, while objecting to increased funding for education and job training.

She's a democrat. She'd be a huge improvement over McKinney, and as a dem may actually stand a chance to replace McKinney.

O come on guys ... at least she's entertaining.

I'll be a little disappointed when the DOJ starts putting 2+2 together and indicts her for conspiring to __________, but hey ... that should be a good show too.

There is something going on in Washington that seems to make a lot of congressmen mentally ill after being there for a short time.
