Newkirk is less than eight miles south of the Oklahoma- Kansas border. Newkirk is about halfway between Ponca City, OK and Arkansas City, Kansas on highway 77. Arkansas City is less than 5 miles north of the Oklahoma-Kansas border. Highway 77 runs almost due north and south between Arkansas City, Newkirk and Ponca City. I takes between two hour fifteen minutes and two hours thirty minutes to drive from Newkirk to Oklahoma City.
