It's bizarre that the New York Times and its ilk have always been critical of Saudi Arabia because they connect it with Big Oil, and with conservativism, and all that bad stuff. But as soon as the Saudis really started acting like Hitler, the media clam up. I don't expect to read about this sermon in the mainstream press anytime soon. Typically the newswires carry this for an hour or two, and if you miss it, it's gone. If it weren't for FreeRepublic a lot of this stuff would never be seen at all.

I wish all Americans could read the opinion section of Arab News from Saudi Arabia just once.

The whole thing's so full of ironies...

Imagine if a nation friendly to the U.S. (like the Saudis) were calling a nation of BLACK people, "pigs and monkeys..."...the anger and righteous indignation among American liberals would know no end. And imagine if this bunch that had called the black folk "pigs and monkeys" had just crushed 3000 of the blacks 'neath 60 tons of rubble? Can you just imagine? A black "Sharon"---a black leader retaliating like Sharon is on behalf of Israel---would be hailed as the new Mandela, MLK and Desmond Tutu combined.

But if it is the JEWS who are called "pigs and monkeys," and if it is the JEWS who are defending themselves from the sand Nazis slaughtering the equivalent of a 9/11 massacre EVERY DAY---then, according to the new-anti-semites of the American Left (who are really the OLD anti-semites of the European left)---it's AOK!

I'm a baby boomer, son of the greatest generation who got behind Ronald Reagan in '63 and '64 and carried him into the White House in '80. Conservatives supported Isreal then, unequivacably. Duh. A no brainer. God gave them that land. They are our ally, they share our values and our culture. They are on our side against the commies and against the pagan mohams, palis and other moon worshipping heathuns who are on a now-14-century old jihad to kill or enslave all Christians and Jews and end civlization and replace it with a 6th century heathen feudal society.

But NOW, after 40 years of NEA education in public schools and in American colleges and universities, you have people actually getting on FREE REPUBLIC using the names ARAFAT and SHARON in the same sentence---with that "they're both the same, equally guilty, the 'cycle of violence' yadayadayada", honestly not understanding the difference---Americans, FREEPERS for goodness sake, too STUPID and too uneducated to know or understand history or politics. Amazing. Instead, they buy into the moral-equivalence NPR-PBS-CNN-NBC-BSBSBS that passes for the conventional wisdom in most places in the USA.

Summarizing, if someone called a nation of BLACK people "pigs and monkeys" the way the Saudis have called a nation of JEWS "pigs and monkeys," the din of protestations would reach heaven itself, and there would be massive marches on Washington calling for boycotts of the offending nations even if it meant STARVING ourselves of WHATEVER we might deprive ourselves of purchasing from that nations. Dare I say there'd even be calls for---using the case of Isreal as an example---Sharon to go in and extinguish this ugly flame of hatred before it spread futher and engulfed the world with people who so racially viewed an entire people as "pigs and monkeys" despite decades of enlightened global racial attitude adjustment.
