WTC Flag Raising & Memorial Petition surpasses 400,000 SIGNATURES!

[Thanks to ForGod'sSake for the original graphic]

The Petition to New York City regarding the Firefighter Memorial

protesting the originally proposed Ground Zero Flag Raising Statue and seeking that any future plans for a memorial be non-political and historically correct, has surpassed the 400,000 signature mark. It now stands at:

400,001 Signatures

We will keep this petition going until it is clear that future plans for the memorial are not politcally driven and are not revisionist. That being the case, please continue to point others towards the petition site at:

http://www.petitiononline.com/flgraise/

to sign and forward the petition on to all they know.

We are winning this fight since the original statue has been cancelled and other plans to date appear not to be political or revisionist.

In as much as the attention and notice has dropped way off due to the cancellation of the originally planned revisionist statue, and since the signature rate has fallen dramtically off ... this will be the last post regarding this subject ... short of new revisionist plans of course.

The Petition broke 420,000 signatures a little earlier and continues to climb at a modest rate even now, as people read about what almost happened and add their names in protest.

Here's the comments from signature number 420,000

Let it be done in truth no matter what race of people had been involved is the only way that all true Americans regardless of our race can show that true spirit of freedom we have come from. We will never rid of our racism if we continue by changing truth to make issue of it.
Very well said.

Just thought there maybe some of you who are interested.

420,010 BUMP.

It amazes me that it is still gathering close to 10,000 signtures a month. People keep spreading the word, even after the "heat" is off. That is a message in and of itself my friend ... and very good one.

Hey why do you on a vanity thread tell us where you were a year ago. What has happened there and to you since then re this petition and your newest petition cause.

I think that is a great 4th of July reality to share to with your fellow freepers.

That's great Jeff!

It's great that the post office kept the image honest on the stamp too.

Bro ... it would take SO much!

A year ago I was getting redder and redder in the face about Klamath and when my friends called on July 12th ... I had to go. The results are all documented on the Stand at Klamath Falls Site. One day I will write a book about it.

That took me through August and I was writing on the first book in the Dragon's Fury series in the evenings a lot while there.

Then there was 9-11 and I created my memorial site for that which I put up on the net as the "Attack on America Memorial Site".

As this was going on, I finished the first book in my series, Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire" spurred on by the horrific events (which I had to account for)and self published it in November.

In January came the unbelievable word on the WTC Flag Raising monument they unveiled in NYC and I was just SO frustrated that I had to write that WTC Flag Raising Petition and post it ... it took on its own life from there and here on FR with SO many supporters.

That lasted several months with heavy involvement, until April. In May, I had to go to work down in Texas to replenish the coffers and try and keep bread on the table for my wife and kids ... but then there in June, right after coming home for Father's Day, my birthday and to prepare for my daughter's July 2nd wedding ... came the unbelievable word of the 9th Circuit ruling declaring the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional! More red in the face and the writing of another Petition to protest the ruling and get it set aside.

In the mean time, and through it all, Volume II of my series, Dragon's Fury - Trodden Under was being written with the help of many FReepers (they are mentioned in the acknowledgements but include Joanie-f, Dukie, bootless, harpseal, Travis McGee, sneakypete and several others.) I just finished the draft and the last two chapters are being edited now so I can get it released by the middle of the month.

It's been a hectic, sometimes risky, but awe inspiring year. I am so grateful to have been involved in so many events ... and SO grateful to a merciful God for helping me through them and leading me to SO many patriotic friends in the process. Especially here on FR ... this site, despite the many disagreements, issues and disruptions ... is THE gathering place for grass roots activism in support of our Republic on the internet. It's been a God send and made a HUGE difference on getting the word out.

... well ... there I've gone and done it. I guess that's it in a nutshell.
