U.S. President George W. Bush helped repair a trail and build a footbridge along the Au Sable River at the base of Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks on a snowy Earth Day today. He traveled to upstate New York to launch his "Clear Skies" initiative aimed at combating air pollution.
Also today President Bush handed out awards at the National Medal of Arts Ceremony at Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. to such people as singer Johnny Cash, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, director Mike Nichols, illustrator Jose Cisneros, painter Helen Frankenthaler, child psychologist Robert Coles, artistic director Judith Jamison, writer Rudolfo Anaya, author Tom Wolfe, and actor Kirk Douglas.

**As much as algore sweats, if he would have been out there like GW, he would have been frozen solid...**
So what you're saying is...algore's a stiff no matter what the temp...? :o)
To: ohioWfan
I have this picture in my mind of the Tin Man asking for an oilcan, not able to move his arms! Frozen pits!! LOL! OMG .. I thought Gore looked like the Tin Man too .. maybe the sweaty arm pits is what made him rust ..

Yes, Condi wins it all. Aren't we lucky to have her? Our President knows a class act when he sees one. BTW, is that Johnny Cash with the red face? Anybody know if that's a sunburn, bad lighting, or does he have a health problem?
I have no idea. I am hoping it is something you mentioned and not just the work of a really bad make up artist.

That's SOOOO funny, that was exactly what I was going to say about you being right...but didn't. I'm glad you did. WE RULE! There, I said THAT too!

I found this by doing a Google search ....
Feb 26, 2002, 11:00 AM PT He walked the line, he fell into a burning ring of fire and he brought his baritone snarl to packed houses...at California state prisons.
This, dear friends, is not a man you'd expect to retire gracefully to the world of fishing and needlepoint. So as Johnny Cash celebrates his 70th birthday Tuesday, the Man in Black has proudly reaffirmed that he isn't bowing out just yet.
Despite a string of recent ailments (he's been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy), a near-death bout with pneumonia and more than a half-dozen trips to the hospital since 1998, the music legend says he's feeling better, he's finishing work on another new album and he may even perform again.
I'll keep looking for something more current ..... but perhaps some of you know whether or not the neuropathy could be causing the reddened skin color.

Fox News aired some footage of Condi accompanying Yo Yo Ma on the cello. They said that she had her first lesson at age 3......She looked lovely and played like a professional concert pianist!
To: RepubMommy
It's only when I see Condi like this do I realize just how lucky we are as a nation to have a women with her talent and sense of duty in the position that she is in. I would give my right eyeteeth to hear that duet with her and Yo Yo Ma.
She is, in a word, magnificent.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
