Posted on 04/22/2002 6:38:10 PM PDT by mtngrl@vrwc

U.S. President George W. Bush helped repair a trail and build a footbridge along the Au Sable River at the base of Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks on a snowy Earth Day today. He traveled to upstate New York to launch his "Clear Skies" initiative aimed at combating air pollution.

Also today President Bush handed out awards at the National Medal of Arts Ceremony at Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. to such people as singer Johnny Cash, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, director Mike Nichols, illustrator Jose Cisneros, painter Helen Frankenthaler, child psychologist Robert Coles, artistic director Judith Jamison, writer Rudolfo Anaya, author Tom Wolfe, and actor Kirk Douglas.

Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!

Wow! What a snow storm huh? I can't believe it is snowing that hard somewhere while it is so warm here!

BTW: Great freep report from Friday night!

What a beautiful day it was here in sunny California today! It just doesn't get any better than this!

About the FReep report, thanks! I am addicted to FReeping, what can I say?

She comes around every once-in-a-while. I hear she does have a pretty heavy work schedule, you're right.

(I'm trying out a new gif as the official NordP logo - we'll see)

It kind of fits the whole warm weather theme.

Hey you know what I notice one thing you never seen Al Gore or Bill Clinton cutting woods at Enviorment, trees everything else

Don't think you'll see Gore cutting any kind of wood .. ever read his book .. the boy thinks a life of a tree is more important then a human life

Gore is truly a scary man IMO

I am a big Johnny Cash fan. He has been suffering from a rare Parkinson like disease for a number of years. (I think it is called Dragers syndrome). It is a very serious neurologic disease. He was just recently discharged from a hospital; the press release said he was treated for pneumonia but that red face sure looks like post-radiation treatment. I am almost positive it is not a sunburn as he has been too ill to sun bathe even though he has a retreat in Jamaica.

I suspect you were thinking of niacin, not nitrates.

neuropathy could be causing the reddened skin color.

Kayak, I have the same disease, and I have never seen it cause the face to turn red like that. However, there is another side effect of diabetes that is called Diabetic Dermopathy, and that is possibly what this is. People with diabetic neuropathy, which btw is quite a painful condition, are most prone to this side effect.

No, because it might be one of his relatives! hehe. Good for Dubya, ignoring that clown and his insulting speeches.

(Great pictures tonight!)

Maybe I'll catch her on a later Dose, then. I know all about heavy work schedules. I see by her screenname she is in law practice. Is she an attorney. If so, Then she must be really busy!

I like the logo. Makes me feel warm, especially since it is cold here in Maryland right now. Wait a few more days and It'll be warm again!!!

What state do live in? How is the wheather there?

It was either Brit Hume or Shephard Smith. Also I think Lauri Dhue had it in her news segment. Hume reruns at midnight

Thanks for that info, I'll have to watch Brit in a little while!

I have to disagree with you, NordP. I live in a suburb of Fresno, CA, the home of the founder of FRee Republic, Jim Robinson. "Nuff said! LOL!

California Dreaming, I suppose. But a REALLY fine city would have to be Baltimore, MD. Not bad for a Libby city.
