I would argue that our foreing aid doesn't help Israel because then to avoid looking like we favor Israel after giving them the money we have to ask them to show "restraint" to appease the Arab oil states. If Israel didn't get that aid they would have solved the Pali problem long ago.

All Israel has to do is say no. What's that say about them? I don't recall Bush having to force wads of bills into Sharon's sports jacket. Actually I picture Sharon standing in front of Bush with his hands out, palms up.
