I agree, but seems like the Bishops at the meeting in Rome.....still don't get the picture.
Just listened to my Cardinal, Anthony Bevilacqua talk about sending the offender away for treatment........
YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOMOSEXUALS DON'T CHANGE!
LOL! I'm really on the other side of this, but I have got to admit when something is FUNNY! I want this bumper sticker, but there's no way I'm putting any sticker on my car. Maybe a rear window decal? Make it small though so it doesn't obstruct the view.
Whatever your views, it still fits with my point. He's railing against homosexuals before he's even cleaned out his own house.
Yes I do, call me flawed. But it's not germane to this discussion.
Walker Percy touches upon such a two-part schism in his Love in the Ruins; neither side comes out particularly well. I'm partial to Dante's depiction of schismatics in the Inferno.
This is one of the things that made Islam appealing. You and your god, no one in between allowed.
Seriously, Christianity might be more palatable to us unbelievers if you completely ditched the concept of the church and clergy power structure and got back to basics, as in your saviour Christ. Just a tip.
And how is he to clean his house in deed without assailing the grime in word? By your logic, we couldn't criticize Clinton back in '99 because we hadn't kicked him out yet.
Oh you know it had to happen. Our SkyPilot predicted the activist reaction quite well.
And they serve an evil master.
They pretty much have. Well, not condemned, but stated it's not within God's wishes, and hopes they will realize that and stop what they're doing. As far as religious stances on homosexuality, it's the best I've seen so far.
But the church has it completely within its rights to state that no homosexual or pedophile (Clint N. Suhks, let's not get hung up on definitions, not important here) will hold a position of trust in the church. End of story, they're gone.
In fact, almost all the reported cases are between a priest and an adolecent (sexualy responsive male... This is just the tip of the homosexual iceburg. Gays typically hit upon young male types for their pleasure. This is in fact predominately a homosexual issue. The extent of pedphilia in this situation is grossly overstated.
I think he was speaking homosexuality in general. In that case you have a false metaphor, that would be like a person in the Clinton administration admonishing the Republicans for shady campaign finance when you know they're both guilty.
I believe Christ's admonition against prosecuting others before you have cleared your house of the same crime is very appropriate.
Nothing wrong with your point, but your statistics are wrong. 99.9988% is mathematically equivalent to saying only one priest out of every 83,333 priests is involved.
It is much higher.
Are you talking the activists or gays in general. I can go with you on the activists, but the very religious gay friends I've had would disagree on the latter.
The sermon was not gay bashing it was telling it like it is. I wish I had been there for the sermon, I'm game enough to get up and applaud afterward.
No gay I've ever known fits this description, and I've known enough to be a statistically relevant sample. None hit on young males, only one even liked to hit on straight adult males (well, one other that I've seen but didn't know, and he was being such an a*hole doing it that the other gays beat him up for making them look bad).
Are this many of the gays you talk about really out there, or am I just very good at choosing my friends, eliminating the scum?
