A St. Patrick's Cathedral priest who is under fire for a sermon bashing homosexuality as the prime cause of priest child-molestation said yesterday he did not clear Sunday's homily with his boss, Edward Cardinal Egan, even as the archdiocese distanced itself from his remarks.

Gee whiz, if it's not homosexuality, then why are 95% of the victims males? If it were just a case of pedophilia, then girls would have been molested at approximately the same rate as boys. The p.c. liberal media just can't face the truth.

"DIDN'T HAVE EGAN BLESSING"

His remarks are consistant with Scripture, both Old and New Testament.

IS THIS GAY BASHING?

ROMANS 1:16-32 For I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: for Jew first, and then Greek For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith; as it is written, "The one who is righteous by faith will live". The wrath of God is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them. Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse; for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened. While claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes. Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts for the mutual degradation of their bodies. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper. They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil, greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and spite. They are gossips and scandalmongers and they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, and rebellious toward their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

I have to throw in this one:

How are Christians to respond to these evil days? First of all the Lord gave the warning as His second coming approached we would see these attitudes occurring in the world. II Timothy 3:1-4 says, This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

The p.c. liberal media just can't face the truth.

Or rather, the liberal media is furiously spinning the truth. I.e., lying again.

This is funny, and it looks like someone trying to shift focus. We should remind him again why all the American cardinals are in Rome now. Couldn't be because of all the pedophile Catholic priests now, could it?

I know it goes deeper, but on the surface this looks too much like the pot calling the kettle black.

I can GUARANTEE YOU that as this is posted, Homosexual activists are busy manning their keyboards and fax machines to make sure the topic is shifted.

Organizations like GLADD had two strategies:

1. Lay low. Hope the crisis in the Catholic Church did not broach the topic of homosexuality, especially gay "causes" like NAMBLA and lowering the age of consent for children (as they did in England).

2. When #1 started to show cracks--they decided to go on the offensive. Call media, issue Talking Points, get their "message" and story consistent, spew terms like "hate" and "attack" when someone mentions the role of homosexuality in these child rapes.

They are organized, they have money, and they are zealous.

The Bible talks about shepherd’s who lead their sheep to the slaughter. It is talking about these evil, PC concience, truth denying priests like EGAN!!!

Not having grown up in the Catholic Church, perhaps you could educate me as to whether there is equal opportunity access boys vs. girls in the Catholic Church setting for a paedophile posing as a priest.

Well, that bit I don't think any sane person can disagree with.

BTW, if the Homily had Egan's blessing, it would have been a neutered homily, of this I am sure. V's wife.

The Bible talks about shepherd’s who lead their sheep to the slaughter.

Isn't that what they're doing with all those pedophiles in the ranks? A pedophile is bad enough, but a group of pedophiles in the most trusted of positions of confidence is inexcusable. I like Denis Leary's punishment "We'll hang you up naked on a cross in the middle of Times Square with a big neon sign that says 'I carry a torch for kids who carry candles.'"

Certainly. From what I've read, much of the molesting occurs during religious education classes. The pseudo-priest goes into the classroom, says hello to the class, asks for a specific student to help him with some task and instead takes the kid to a closed room and ruins his/her life. Equal opportunity abuse was possible

I've heard about abuse of alter boys, but I would think that this is less likely since most parents would go to church at the same time that their son is helping with the Mass.

Probably the same access for boys and girls. I wouldn't think there are any priests that are below the age of majority, so the victims would have to some from the general population.

Well, I see that you're willing to carry the water for the liberal press: It's HOMOSEXUALS, NOT PEDOPHILES! Deal with it.

So the 'purple mafia' is upset with Msgr. Clark and they have designated him their 'Target of the Week.'

IMHO this entire story is based on the following paragraph:
"Egan's spokesman Joseph Zwilling confirmed the cardinal did not clear Clark's homily before leaving for Rome on Sunday to meet with the pope on the sex-abuse issue. Zwilling also said Clark was speaking "for himself" in the homily."

Does the author mean to imply that ALL homilies must be pre-approved by the Cardinal? Nonsense! I'm sure the question to Fr. Zwilling was something along the lines of:
"Is this the Churches Official Position?"
The reply being: "No."
And from that point it becomes "The archdiocese distancing itself from the remarks." ...More balderdash!

Msgr. Clark told the truth... too bad the media won't let that be the story.

Although I thought Clark's homily smacked of scapegoating, I do not believe that referring to homosexuality as a disorder equals "gay-bashing".
