I posted on the other thread yesterday but I'll say it again- would that the other FL teachers would follow these teachers' example and support someone who's for real about education.

GO JEB!!

Good work, summer. I hope you sent this to local FL newspapers, i.e. the one in Republican Naples.

The last thing teacher union "leadership" wants to hear is the opinion of rank-and-file teachers. This sort of thing threatens their very reason for existence.

LOL! How true!

But don't we all need to speak out when we feel strongly about some one or some thing?

Heh...heh....

Jeb should get and run the TV clip from a while back that showed a black inner city mom crying with joy when her son received the first school voucher in the state.

Of course these highly qualified teachers would support someone the Teacher's union is against. (Actually the union endorsed McBride in the governor's race. Which should be a clue for Janet Reno-- also running.)

It has long been my contention that the teacher's union is opposed by most good teachers. The union is for rank and file teachers and "brings the curve down" for the rest of the teachers. Not good for education and if its not good for education, it eventually hurts the very people the union pretends to protect.

It would be really neat if you could convince Steve Otto and Daniel Ruth, both of whom are columnists for The Tampa Tribune, to publicize the information you've been posting. They've both been so busy bashing Bush on education and other things, I don't think they would do so.

But it would still be nice!

The FL columnists do not provide accurate information about Gov. Bush's record on education. They really don't. Mark Silva of the Orlando Sentinel is the absolute worst, along with that other guy at the Sentinel. They are just clueless as to what new laws Gov. Bush has passed, and how he's helped teachers. I think they write their columns after receiving directions from Reno's campaign.

PS Thanks for your encouragement. I must say, people on FR have really learned so much. They are better qualified than these FL columnists to write about education reforms in FL!
