BOSTON (AP) Tax opponents, a potent force in Massachusetts since the late 1980s, have recently been scarce on Beacon Hill, where the Legislature this week takes up votes on the first major tax increases in a decade.

Anti-tax forces have splintered and been largely silent in recent weeks as the House weighs dozens of new taxes to raise $1 billion or more.

''You really can't cut your way out of a $2 billion deficit,'' said Rick Lord, president and CEO of Associated Industries of Massachusetts.

What a lame-brained statement... The government of Massachusetts spent their way into the $2 billion defecit, it did not fall from heaven. Of course you can cut your way out of it...

''I don't get a sense of people in revolt,'' said Michael J. Widmer, president of the business-backed, nonpartisan Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. ''There's a common acceptance that there has to be a balanced approach, on both spending and revenues.''

It has become a standard tactic for the scumbag Democrats to form their own "taxpayer associations" and then put out releases like this. In a socialist sewer like Boston, where the scumbags also have total control of the press, the editorial writers will always gleefully bend over for the Scumocrats.

What is needed is a loud and angry protest.
On the other hand, it's only Massachusetts, and that place is pretty much shot down the liberal toilet anyway.
I hear they even teach their second-graders about "fisting", LOL!!!

This whole piece, by the way, is textbook propaganda.
I read this a couple of times - - it is beautiful. My favorite line was this:

Lawmakers say their calls from constituents are generally pleading for new revenues to shore up education, health care, and public safety.

The 'hosts' are busy raising families and being productive, while the parasites are lobbying full-time. It is a tough battle, and Massachusetts gave up long, long ago. The mice seem to have decided that if they are going to be raped, they may as well enjoy it. Frankly, I don't know why decent people would remain in a place like Massachusetts.
