Reparations are a bad idea, not only because people living today played no role in the evils of slavery and colonialism, but also because the descendants of those who endured servitude and foreign rule are vastly better off than they would have been had their ancestors not endured captivity and European rule. Reluctant though he would be to admit it, Jesse Jackson has a much better life in America than he would have had in, say, Ethiopia or Ghana.

On the contrary, reparations are a wonderful idea, if done properly. The US should be generous in righting the wrong that was done to millions of Africans.

Any descendent of slaves who wants reparations should be offered a free one-way trip to Africa and a one-time stipend of, say, $25,000.00. Of course anyone who believes he or she has been so grievously wronged by this country would have to give up all claims to citizenship in the US and take up citizenship in the African nation of their choosing.

Thanks. Sometimes, it's nice to be reminded of what this country is really about. All we've been hearing lately is criticism after criticism of America.

When your faith is so weak, the only way to preserve it is to destroy anything that makes you realize just how weak your faith is. That's what this is about.

Though Indians have been much characterized in this country as cabbies and 7-Eleven staff, I hope we all realize that they are also, many of them, intellectuals of the first order, and far superior to their Pakistani neighbors, both in love of humanity and friendliness to the USA.

Thank you, come again.

That is correct. The Islamics like to harken back to when they had great thinkers and scientists. But, they don't remember or fail to remember that when these great thinkers became somewhat enlightened and began to think out of the Islamic 'box', they killed them.

That is why there really is no progressive thinkers in that part of the world, today.

You have nailed it! Islamism is about weak faith being bolstered with blood and hate (typical for demonic influence upon the souls of men). The filthy rich Saudi's are the greatest study in paradox I have ever seen; the Moslem faithful seem to have split vision, and little if any grasp of reality.

In conversations with Muslims from around the world, several common themes emerge. "To you we are a bunch of Ay-rabs, camel jockeys and sand-niggers." "The only thing that we have that you care about is oil."

And I thought the Arabs didn't understand us...
