This is the kind of society I came from. It was a society beaten, depressed and dejected. It was a society of individuals who didn’t care about protecting and defending their lives, because they had hardly any lives to defend.

The more I read about the course this country is taking, the more I remember the horror stories that came out of communist USSR during the Cold War. Now those same events and situations are occurring here, and very few people seem to make the connection.

This country is supposed to be different than that! That is one reason I keep harping on the fact that we are a police state. If the same activities took place anywhere else it would be recognized as such; but not here in the "Land of the Free," which isn't any more.
