I haven't read the text of this law, but I'd be willing to bet that there is a section in it that shields all parties involved in the process from any kind of civil or criminal liability if something goes wrong with these vaccinations.

In the early eighties I was lucky enough to be assigned to operations vs support assignments in the USAF.Our squadron commanders rescinded mandatory "flu" vaccinations to all personnel under their command.

The vaccines sent to the base clinics were labeled experimental. We all knew it could be a career killer decision for them, and we all would have walked through fire for them. The "flu" in its various forms, does not fit the need for mandatory vaccines among healthy 18-40 year olds.

If smallpox or other lethal infectious disease is unleashed as a weapon in the US, we all will have hard choices to make.We all need to think hard about what our reactions would be.And what our neighbors and friends will do.Vaccines and Quarantine WILL be needed in that case.Mandatory? Maybe so.

It is kind of late now to rethink why we elected our current state and local leaders. The last year should have convinced even the most airheaded people that character does count in government.

With a lot of luck, it wont happen at all.But I shudder to think of the panic that would ensue and how quickly lethal disease would spread,if people dont think about this grim subject beforehand. There will be no place to run, and the CDC and Emergency Management will be making every attempt to minimise casualties. What would you do if your city or town is quarantined? There is such a thing as too late to vaccinate.
