I noticed when choosing topics while posting this that there are local topic categories for the US, Great Britain, Germany and the like--but no France. Hmmm. :)

The Lewsers have fallen in love with Le Pen the fascist. It's sickening. But it shows their true colors.

"The recent success of Jean-Marie Le Pen has provoked an outpouring of rage from all the usual left wing suspects, and astonishingly, from some Jews. Justin Raimondo seems to be the only one to see the irony in this. In a world where Muslims are attacking synagogues and beating Jews in the street, it is with a sense of wonder that I consider the Jewish resistance to Le Pen whose sin is to oppose having his country swamped by those same Muslims.
...
M. Le Pen actually supports Israel’s right to defend itself yet is called anti-Semitic simply because he is a member of the political right!"

Le Pen is not hated by Jews because he opposes Muslim immigration, he is hated by Jews because he hates Jews. He has said countless disgusting things about them (including that the Holocaust was just a "detail" of history). He's a sick jerk, and a Buchanan-style fascist (which is why the Lewsers and Justin Raimondo want to have his baby).

Had it not been for Von Kluck losing his nerve and turning away from Paris and an over-the-hill French General that left his post the French would have lost WWI in the first 6 weeks.

I've noticed that it is very much de rigueur to mock the French these days.

These days?

I remain astonished that people mock the French as reluctant soldiers

Reluctant soldiers they are not. They should perhaps be more reluctant though.

good only for surrendering en masse.

This attitude probably comes from the results in WWI, WWII, and afterwards and us forgetting all of their great victories 400 years ago and before.

There was only one possible reason for the US to enter World War I on the side of the allies, and that was out of a sense of loyalty to France

Now thats an indepth historical analysis.

For those who mock the French defeat in 1940 it might pay to consider what the French did to the Prussians in 1806!

Oh well hell! That makes up for everything. So the French are having a couple of down centuries.

In 1813 the Prussians repaid him in kind, having learned the lessons of warfare the hard way.

Musta been a fluke. LOL

Which brings me to my point: why do we consider England a natural ally, and France virtually an enemy?

Just a guess, but I would say that its because the British don't blast every foreign policy move for the sole reason that it is not a French foreign policy move, didn't carp at us and leave the NATO table in a huff during the Cold War, and allow us overflight rights so our pilots don't have to fly exhausted over Libya, and lets us preposition supplies on Diego Garcia to defend the developed world's oil supply and all sorts of stuff like that.

In our revolution and again in 1812 we were fighting as allies of France against the hated British!

Yeah but don't forget the French and Indian War LOL!

It was the British who despised us and tried to topple us and contested with us for Maine and Oregon and mocked us as backwoods hillbillies, unworthy of a place in the family of nations.

I forgot that the French consider us a cultural equal unlike the British.

It was Britain who tricked us into sacrificing one hundred thousand of our best men in that horror called The War To End All Wars.

I thought this article just said a few paragraphs ago that we did it because we loved the French????? or have things changed in the time it took me to read 3 paragraphs?

So we make fun of France for losing so ignominiously in World War II, forgetting that the French had literally lost an entire generation in the First World War II and had little left to give.

Didn't Germany also participate in World War I? Or did the French just lose an entire generation and Germany come away unaffected and ready to crush France in the next war?

Feeble as France had become, they none the less went to war against the fearsome Wehrmacht because their ally Poland was in danger. Surely there is some honor in that?

Hmmm, didn't England declare war for the exact same reason? Those honorless Brits! How dare they steal France's reason for going to war.

Now France is again in trouble because the French ambassador to London complained that the world was being drawn into war over a "shitty little country."

Surely there is some honor in that???? LOL

No freakin thanks. I'll stick with the Brits, at least until the French start back on the upswing in a couple hundred years.

The heck with all the frenchy stuff. Other than his gyrations, I couldn't find anything to disagree with
when I listened to about ten minutes of translated Le Pen on CSPAN.

Though whether he'd stand for Israel, I would.

"I have spent seven years of my life at sea; I have sailed the oceans and stared at an infinitesimal part of the billions and billions of stars in the heavens. My beliefs are simple ones. I believe in the nation and the family. Together with the nation, the family is the crucible for what little possibilities there are for human happiness. Society must have certain fundamental values or else there can be no personal development. "

Justin Raimondo seems to be the only one... Jew or what? If you mean, he's the only one to see an irony in whatever, I wouldn't believe it. The guy is an absolute shit-for-brains lefty pseudo-intellectual.

As to the "some Jews" raging against Le Pen, they're plain idiots, same as Raimondo. No ethnicity or religion is able to prevent this disease.

Le Pen wants to stop Arab immigration – thus he is an anti-Semite!

Strictly looking, he is - since the Arabs are also Semites.

But too much strictness often leads to absurd. Anyway, Le Pen's dislike of Jews doesn't offend me. It's a prejudice, not a crime, and not the only one to be found around. I don't demand all the people to like me just because I'm a Jew.

What I'm really pissed off by, is by the hypocrisy of the (French, and not only) Leftists, whose silence when the synagogues were burnt was deafening. Only when Jospin's ass was kicked by Le Pen did it occur to them to defend Jews. Mind you, not from the Muslim perpetraitors of firings and bombings. Many of this third-worldists continued to sport their checkered Arab diapers during the rallies "in support of the Jews"!

"Why do we consider England a natural ally?"......Could it be because Washington, Jefferson, Adams, etc. were Englishmen? Have you noticed that Americans speak English?

And from 1798 to 1801 we were fighting...........the French.

If the French elect Le Pen, I will stop mocking the cheese-eating surrender monkeys who fight with their feet and f*** with their faces.

In fact, if they elect him, I will take back all my previous mocking.

" The blitzkrieg that followed took Prussia down in approximately the same time frame as Nazi Germany took down France in 1940. They did it without motor vehicles or tanks which considering the pace of warfare in those days is truly astonishing."

The German Army in WWII still ran on horses. The US Army, with the jeep and the truck, was the first real motorized army. The speed of a horse didn't change from 1806 to 1940. The author neglects to mention the defeat of the French in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War. They haven't been successful at war since 1808.

What bugs me about the French, is their arrogant superiority and their willingness to shove it down our throats. Nothing America does is right, but somehow we still win. They hate that. Americans haven't attacked any French restaurants or boycotted French movies.

If America had fought the Wehrmacht in 1940, it would have fared much worse than the French did since we had far fewer tanks and aircraft. Actually, The French inflicted as many casualties on the Germans as the Soviet Army did in the same comparable period (six weeks). However, the Russians had thousands of miles to retreat to. Remember also that the Brits in the French campaign folded first.

I'll give you a history lesson frogophile. My father's ancestors kicked the frogs ass in the franco-Prussian war. My mother's ancestors using the plan of one of my father's kinsmen routed the frogs in WW 2. In their typical manner the frogs got even after WW 2 by getting the brave dumb Americans to agree to the forced ethnic cleansing of 12-15 million of my kinsmen from Prussia. It is estimated that more than 2 million civilians were killed in this little exercise of frog rache.
