it might jolt a dose of reality into the Bush/Republican apologists in this forum I voted for Dr. Keyes in the primary, and Browne in the election. This thread is about honor among soldiers.
What office did you run for this year? What candidate did you walk the precinct for? How many coffee's did you host in your home? Take it to an appropriate thread.

I guess you can say you are addressing the guy who singlehandedly got GWB elected.LOL! Looks like someone got duped. I'm not bitter about our current CINC regardless of his shortcomings and failings.
It's better than it was 4 years ago. And I'm not in a state of denial. I know exactly what our CINC stands for. I also know what he's better than the alternative. Of course, I'm not expecting utopia, and I can see progress in the RIGHT direction.

What you write is depressing but true. Our brave guys have been sacrificed for nothing since Korea. The reality bothers the Bush bots but that is their problem. Our people have been pawns for too long to the power games played by our rulers.

My young son did not go into the Army for the pay, or to travel and see the world. He said he went to defend his country and die for that cause so his little sister could live free.
He served during the clinton administration supporting the Bosnia and Kosovo missions. It wasn't easy being deployed, living 12 men to a tent, showering in a converted tractor trailer and eating MREs........
He's home now and if recalled would go back in a heartbeat. Everyone he served with and led felt the same way.
I pray daily for our troops wherever they are stationed.

The very strength of our country is that we could not conceive of the evil perpetrated on this country. Despite it all we still believe in the goodness of man.

Pork farm bill has nothing to do with feeling patriotism or the sacricfice of these heros. Sorry.

Don't agree with you fully about dying for freedom and expressions of patriotism being in vain; however, that the lurch toward socialism continues, is undeniable. And do admire you sticking to your guns. As far as I'm concerned, your contrary views are welcome.

Why must you equate statism with the essence of America? We both agree that it is the antithesis of America. Assuredly we are headed in the wrong direction, more slowly with Bush than we would have with Gore, but patriotism is support of the American ideal, and as such should be exclusive of politics. In supporting that ideal it does not necessarily deny that we have gone, and continue to go, astray. I am as dissatisfied as you with the socialist inroads in America (with Bush as a contributor), but I think our men are sacrificing for that aforementioned ideal which, hopefully, has not yet been lost.

My son is in the Navy barely scraping by with his pay Sounds like a personal problem. Been there and done that, from E-1 to E-7.
Please take your policy bashing elsewhere, and let us honor men and women who have given their lives for something they believed in.
If you'd like, I'll even start a thread dedicated to your cause, just for you.
