Au contraire, BillyBoy. I am as appalled by this as I am the demonization of our founding fathers and yes, even our ancestors who fought for the South.

Objective truth does, nonetheless, remain objective truth, regardless of who wins. If we lost the Revolution, Washington might have been haged as a traitor. Nonetheless, he was a very fine man and a patriot regardless of what George III may have thought. For further explanation, see Declaration of Independence (7/4/1776) as to why.

Chavez was very Catholic although liberal in his politics. He was NOT a communist. As Pope Pius XII said in 1948: "The servants of God cannot sit down and sup at the same table as the servants of the devil. Therefore no person who even votes communist much less one who is a communist may be a Catholic."

Funny, it's ok to slam Southron holidays like Davis/Lee/Jackson birthdays, but now that the tables have turned and Lincoln is getting slammed, it's not ok. What a double standard.
The instigators on this thread have no mercy, keep flailing Southron haters, they are taking your holidays in the meantime.

His boys are here in central Virginia right now with their Our Lady of Guadalupe paintings on their vans, framed by crossed Mexican and American flags. They're definitely communists. What's even worse is that they're labor contractors as well. They gull the poor illegals into paying them a kickback from their wages as payment for their jobs, then hit them up for union dues too.
You need to meet some of these crooks and see for yourself, really. Maybe they're just lip-service commies and are actually devout Catholic shakedown artists. Plenty of gangsters have pretended to Catholicism. They aren't necessarily what they seem.

But oh, how the d@mned Yankees crowed about us "rednecks," as the rest of the country stood aside and let the NAACP trash Confederate heritage.Oh, get off your Lone Ranger bit. We've been on your side from the beginning on the South Carolina - NAACP crapola. Hell, I took my vacation down there the first time they boycotted. Hope those hotel taxes I paid helped put a new sidewalk in front of your house.

But whatever taxes either of us paid while there did not benefit me, as I do not reside in SC.

Then 5 months later 2 days in Virginia for the inauguration. Your state is in there somewhere isn't it? :^)

Why not just celebrate Chavez' memory when we have Labor Day and leave Lincoln alone?I just got home from work and decree that yours was the best comment on the whole thread. Thanks.

Also founder of the KKK. Patently untrue.
Do some research; turn off the boob tube. Grow up.

Forrest is a hero and more a man than you'd a ever faced. And that's the plain unvarnished truth. I daresay that no ten of these pissants combined would have dared face Forrest. And had they; you'd probably have another deserved legend....
the legend of the ten dead pissants!
LOL!
I hope at least one of these lil kittenpoops will go out and find out who and what the Great Forrest truly was. (Hint: his BLACK cavalrymen would have died for him... to a man!)

Grant was renting them out illegally to mineowners in Southern Illinois where slavery was quite illegal. I had not heard this before. Can you direct me to a source so that I can retrieve the material and place it in my Ape Linkum Mythbuster quiver?
Thanks in advance.

"He was NOT a communist."Then he sure did a fine impersonation of one. For 10 years, he took his orders from Saul Alinsky and Fred Ross as a paid organizer for the notorious communist front, "Community Services Organization" (CSO). Before that, he associated himself with "Father" Donald McDonnel, a fellow-traveller hiding behind a Roman collar, as so many others have. He was the one who brought Chavez to the attention of Alinsky and Ross.

And Latinos already have Cinco de Mayo... I wish Mexicans would simply starting calling themselves Mexicans and leave the rest of us out of this.
For us of Cuban origin, Cinco de Mayo is simply the day that comes after Cuatro de Mayo and before Seis de Mayo.
We Cubans have never pushed for a day off to honor ourselves. Days off merely reduce productivity and adversely affect profit margins.
