ATTENTION DC AREA FREEPERS! Rally in Support of Judicial Nominees
The Free Republic Network ^ | 05-07-02 | Skeet

Posted on 05/07/2002 11:58:35 AM PDT by Skeet

May 9th marks the one-year anniversary of President Bush’s announcement of his first eleven (11) judicial nominees. The significance of this is that eight of these nominees have yet to have a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

As our President said this past Friday, “By its inaction, the Senate is endangering the administration of justice in America. I call on Senate Democrats to end the vacancy crisis in our federal courts by restoring fairness to the judicial confirmation process.”

In response to the obstructionist tactics of the Senate Democrats, the Senate Republican Conference and the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary are sponsoring a press conference and rally this Thursday at 9:45 AM in the Mansfield Room (room 207) of the US Capitol.

To assist in drawing attention to this outrage, the Free Republic Network will participate in this rally. For those wishing to attend, enter in on the Senate side (North side) of the Capitol. Please bring a photo ID and allow 15 minutes for security.

Excellent! I'll probably have Nick Danger with me and am hoping to meet with Phyllis from CNBL after the rally. CNBL has asked for our help with some legislation they are backing. You are more than welcomed to sit in on this if you are available.

Early morning bump!

We had a great dinner last night in Old Town with Nick Danger (now officially a resident of Northern Virginia), Interesting Times, Abner & Victim of Circumstance (in town to promote THE COOLEST BALLOON EVER MADE.

Your presence at the table was missed but we'll see you at the press conference on Thursday.
