I suspect that the court reporter is using some computerized method where the stenographic characters are converted into readable English immediately.

The prosecution(or is he the plantiff's attorney?) looks pretty disorganized. He's lost an exhibit already. It looks as though Law was dependent upon his secretaries to take care of scum like Geoghan.
