Bush's statement is incredibly saddening. He is absolutely terrified of the Arab Street. It controls his actions and words. He is its prisoner.

Memo to the President: the Taliban condemned the 9/11 attacks that very day. It wasn't "incredibly positive". It was a lie.
Araft works from the same playbook. This is elementary stuff.
Right now, I'm not entirely sure I can support this man again. It breaks my heart to say that, but he's leaving me no choice. I've never been so disappointed in a President.

Last night we heard the speech of a true leader.
Today we hear the speech of a wimp.
I wish we could have someone like Sharon or Reagan as President again.

Bush's statement is incredibly saddening. He is absolutely terrified of the Arab Street. It controls his actions and words. He is its prisoner. Really? Bush was told that the Arab nations would not tolerate our making war in Afghanistan...there were riots, demonstrations and threats of the Arab world turning against the US....but Bush wasn't deterred and went ahead with it anyway.
And then Bush was warned that if he didn't halt the Afghan war for Ramadan that the "Arab Street" would "rise up" and hell would break loose.
Once again Bush ignored the threats and continued the war right through Ramadan.
That is not someone who is "terrified of the Arab Street".
Quite the opposite.

How do you figure that?
