Peace will only come after a decisive victory on the ground.

Which Israel would have accomblished in "67" had the U.S. not stayed her hand. Israel was poised to overrun Egypt and much of the ME after being attacked by the coalition of all the Arab states. "Land for peace" deals only eroded Israels security over the years as the American forced retreat moved her into more indefensible and unsecure positions. The U.S. may be Israels only ally. But we have been a poor one. And now the barbarians are at our own gate.

Your statement is probably a more accurate description of the 73 war than 67, but clearly Israel could have changed the alignment of the middle east, with our permission. IMO, today, better for America, and better for Israel.

But America was an ally in 67, but not a strong one militarily. In 73 America (Nixon) was, and that's where we might have secured American domination of the middle east, through Israel, but then I think the Russians would have backed down, maybe they wouldn't.

America is certainly Israels strongest, most loyal ally today.
