I'm thinking about this...these priests dealing with the biggest crisis of the holiest site in the world...it's on their watch and responsibility...the Orthodox and Catholics barely get along anyway...gunmen shoot their way in a pre-planned publicity "retreat" into a holy site against international law...shooting, Israeli military, must consider the local sensitivities...terrorists, gunmen, the unlucky occupying the church... Talk about stress!
Then, four weeks later, these bunch of sociopathic foreigners come running into the church to "help" - actually to self-promote themselves, note their "demand" to have a press conference.
Wouldn't you beat up these interferers too?
The monks and priests and nuns are thinking "it's finally over, it's finally over" and just at that moment a bunch of snot-nosed foreign kids (without guns to enforce their status as "guests", BTW) announce that now THEY'RE not leaving til they get what THEY want? In their place, I'd have found something to use as a bludgeon and just kept swinging it til I felt better. I'd probably have worn myself out.
