I remember see a reprint of a add from the '30s for silencers for a tompson. Showed a cowboy shooting groundhogs. In todays 'burbs, silencers would be just fine, just got to watch the elevation what with the neighbors house a 100 feet away. : )

Actually, a firarm with a silencer is still noisy unless your ammo is subsonic. But is would help quit things down for the people standing behind the gun that is being fired. You might be able to go without earplugs....that would be nice, I think.
