Great essay and thank you.
Every demorat I know, black or white, thinks this is just plain silly. Why do these people still cling to it??

I do alot of education activism. Two things make my blood boil.

First, the black community complaint of low expectections of their children goes unheeded. (And I live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland!)

Second is the kind of black pop culture thing that to get good grade in high school is a "white" thing. (We're going through this with my nephew. He and his sister are are adopted, sorta, long story) (Straight A's in a private school, but did a masive bail out in public high school. I could throttle him!)

I get so angry listening to these "leaders" complain about few hundred bucks and then turn their backs on education
They're scum.

G-d bless you, ma'am. Your activism with education, where you make a difference, will be the single greatest benefit to your race. Education is the key to prosperity.

Yes Indeed! I recognized that Acronym right away! Niven's update TANJ hasn't had as wide a reading I'd wager...I'll leave it out for people to "spell out". Great article- have to go with the what ugly mug crowd, Michael;-) My opinion might not mean much as most of my friends have suggested I get a job as a stamp at a monster cookie factory! Have you gotten around to the Cyber punk Authors and/or Simmons?

You're 110% correct on that one. The Jacksons of the world break their collective necks to make sure that reparations is on the tongues of everyone, but don't do a darned thing about the poor educational opportunities, especially in urban areas. The public school systems are full of teachers who don't care if their charges do well or not, just as long as they sit down and shut up. That isn't the way to reach someone you are trying to teach.
