Suffice to say its quite a moving site which I was unaware of. If you have a moment please check it out. Its obviously not akin to the actual monument itself, but there's more info given about the soliders themselves.

You're welcome. ;o)
You're the first person I thought of when I saw this thread.
I looked up some of the guys we knew who had been shot down in 'Nam. It really choked me up.
Thanks for pinging Snow Bunny. I meant to include her, too. Hi, Snow Bunny!
Gosh, I am soooo out of it. Thank goodness my daughter's term is over in three weeks. She does all of the heavy lifting, but I'm the one that needs the rest! lol
Pinging Billie!
Snow Bunny and Billie, long time...no see, huh? I hope you both are doing very well! I've missed the Canteen.

I remember Earnest Jack Buckelew--though we all called him David. For the neighborhood were I grew up, he was perhaps the finest young man of them all. All the girls loved him (my own sister among those who wished to marry him, hehehe) and all the other fellows either respected or looked up to him. Smart, good looking, athletic, very polite. This guy was kind to others, even when others were not. I remember the last conversation, when he told me about his draft notice. He didn't really want to go (who can blame a fellow for that?) but "duty" won out, over Canada. From Arlington, Texas, to Arlinton, Virginia. Buried there now with his 'group'. It still brings tears to my eyes every time I think of him. War takes the best away, with all the rest, you know...
