From U.S. House panel clears additional aid to Israel, Palestinians [Ha'aretz]:

"A U.S. House of Representatives panel on Thursday added $200 million in new aid to Israel to a must-pass emergency counter terrorism spending bill after the Bush administration persuaded lawmakers to also provide $50 million in humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

"The bill provides that none of the new funds can go to Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority."

From Bush, Sharon fail to bridge differences [USA Today]

"The United States has pledged more than $100 million in aid to the Palestinians. Bush has urged Arab leaders to help ensure that international aid gets to the Palestinians without getting snagged in what he considers to be a corrupt Arafat regime, U.S. officials said."

From Powers plan Mideast conference [National Post]

"To set the stage for the talks, Mr. Powell said the group agreed to "move quickly" on a $1-billion aid package -- the United States has pledged $300-million -- to help rebuild Palestinian areas ravaged by a five-week Israeli military offensive."

[Yeh, right! Like Arafat won't get his cut from his henchmen.]

I wondered why the $200 million for Israel was removed from one spending bill and put into another one--it was so the administration could tag on another $50 mil of my tax dollars to go the the terrorists. That's just disgusting.
