Pastor Blasts Evangelist (who is Billy Graham s daughter) for Calling Homosexuality Sinful

(AgapePress) - A pastor in Charlotte, North Carolina, is upset with Billy Graham’s daughter for declaring that homosexuality is a sin.

Anne Graham Lotz held a rally recently in Charlotte to promote her upcoming “Just Give Me Jesus” revival. During an address to about 500 women, she called homosexuality one of several sins from which man needs to repent. She said the terrorist attacks of September 11 were a message from God to repent and get right with Him.

Charisma News reports that at that point, several choir members on the risers behind Lotz walked out. According to the report, some of the protestors belong to the Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. The pastor of the church, David Kaylor, used his sermon last Sunday to criticize Lotz. He accused her of representing “a segment of society that tends to blame the victims who have little power to change things.”

Most evangelical Christians reject that notion, saying God has not created any sin from which it is impossible to repent.

Kaylor's church, according to the website for the Covenant Network, is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). That website describes Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church as an "inclusive congregation, diverse in race, economic condition, social background, sexual orientation and religious experience."

It appears Pastor Kaylor is not alone in his assessment of homosexuals as victims. The senior policy analyst for the Culture and Family Institute says despite the mounting accounts of homosexual Catholic priests molesting boys, the liberal news media continues to portray homosexuals as victims as well.

Peter LaBarbera says a recent article in USA Today illustrates his point. He says the story only presents the homosexual viewpoint, claiming that "gay priests" fear the Roman Catholic Church is on a witch hunt, because some church leaders actually blame homosexual priests for the sex-abuse scandal.

"Here is a scandal in which homosexual priests have been molesting boys, and there’s not even supposed to be quote ‘gay priests’ in the Catholic Church," LaBarbera says. "They’ve infiltrated the church. This perversion has gotten into the church, and yet they’re saying that there’s a witch hunt against quote ‘gay priests.’ "

In obvious reference to a passage found in the Book of Isaiah (5:20), the pro-family activist says the media "flip everything on its head -- evil becomes good, and good evil. And you wonder why people don’t trust the media," he says.

"The only good news to come out of this is everybody is seeing the truth here of what is really happening -- when you allow homosexuality to prosper in any organization, you’re going to have trouble," he says.

LaBarbera says it is shameful for the liberal press to continue to be the advocate for the homosexual agenda despite all that has gone wrong.

Meanwhile, Associated Press reports that a former Roman Catholic priest who switched denominations has resigned from a church in Rapid City, South Dakota, after it became public that he had not registered as a sex offender.

Rev. James Forsythe had pleaded guilty in 1989 to repeatedly molesting a 15-year-old boy at his parish outside Kansas City. Forsythe left the priesthood the following year. In 1996, he was ordained in the homosexual-friendly Metropolitan Community Church.

Forsythe became pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of the Black Hills in 2000, but said he did not know that South Dakota requires sex offenders to register. Forsythe registered with police before resigning as pastor and giving up his clergy credentials.

God "created" sin? I don't think so.

What is sin but lack of jurisdiction over one's senses or abuse of jurisdiction? Homosexuality is a sin because it gives jurisdiction to sexual orientation, not even an animal, an organ. Let's call a spade a spade.

Yeah, don't you know, it was God's conspiracy... (sarcasm)

These people are simply over-imaginative, and turning Homosexuality into a sin-less behavior just requires that.

What God did create was free will. Satan used his free will to sin. Those who damn God for creating sin don't know much about God. God could have obliterated sin from the moment it occurred, and then all would follow God out of fear. The time will come. Those who blaspheme God will doubtless know when it does.

Both Kaylor and Graham are in violation of the Scriptures:

Kaylor for not denoucing sodomy as a sin. And AnneGraham for preaching (she's playing a dangerous game). So we have two apostates going at each other. If they go at it long enough, they will eventually find common ground and settle their differences.

The Bible clearly teaches women are not to preach. Neither are positions in the church described in the Bible to be filled by women. But what should we expect, her father was an apostate, too.

The "dangerous game" part was a play on words, 'anagrams' as in the word game. I found it amusing the Grahams' named their daughter, Anne Graham.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

I thought Paul said that the law was dead.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

A couple questions beg. Does your denomination allow women to speak in church, or do they wait until they get home? - rather does the Bible say regarding women in the end days?

Does your Church encourage speaking in tongues?

Additionally

Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Do you adhere to Levitical law?

I myself believe that too. At one point in time, we all have been blessed, and it can happen again, with the satisfaction of seeing the evil souls that were distorted go to hell. After all, why would evil keep expressing itself? When one considers that silent or not, evil speaks volumes, God must have his own very special way of dealing with evil to make it shut up. I'd be very worried for those who wish to submerge the truth or deny the existence of sin to mislead people. Sinners get saved, however this latter specific category is fair game ultimately.

Women were evangelists in the Bible. They were not allowed to lead churches.

Let your women keep silence in the churches:

Paul was speaking to the Corinthians. He allowed women to speak in other churches. See Acts and the women by the river.
