Billy Graham's Daughter - "Evangelist criticized for views on homosexuality"

Joining some congregation members, a Charlotte, N.C., pastor has criticized the daughter of evangelist Billy Graham for characterizing homosexuality as a sin. During his sermon at the Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church (SAPC) last Sunday, David Kaylor voiced his protest against Anne Graham Lotz, whose rally in the community a week earlier caused some SAPC choir members to walk out during her sermon, "The Charlotte Observer" reported.

"The evangelist [Lotz] represents a segment of society that tends to blame the victims who have little power to change things," Kaylor preached. "Jesus used a very different standard of judgment. He welcomed all people, but he especially welcomed those who were rejected by others."

Lotz was in town May 6 to promote her forthcoming "Just Give Me Jesus" revival, scheduled for Nov. 15-16. During a 40-minute sermon to 500 women at a local venue, Lotz called homosexuality one of several sins from which man needed to repent, noting that the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks brought a message from God: "Repent of your sin and get right with Me."

A gay SAPC member said seven or eight of the 20 choir members objected to her comments, so they rose from the risers behind Lotz and quietly walked out, one by one, the "Observer" reported. The member later wrote a letter to Lotz outlining his views.

I am posting this because Anne Graham Lotz is a great woman of God, and the Sodomites and their allies have been going after Dr. Billy Graham's children and Dr. Graham himself recently in what I can only call an all out assault on their family and their Christian witness.

I am a very conservative Irish Roman Catholic mother and perhaps one of the last people you'd expect to be speaking out in support of Anne Graham Lotz. But I have seen her on television especially after 9/11 with Brit Hume, and there was no doubt that the Holy Spirit was blessing every word that came out of her mouth.

With all of the revelations in the Roman Catholic Church of the sex crimes against minors committed by Homosexuals/Sodomites masquerading as priests and bishops, I insist that the problem is Homosexuality itself. It is a seriously disordered condition, a tremendous cross for those who bear it and seek to do God's will, but for those in rebellion against God it is a crime waiting to happen.

COURAGE is a Roman Catholic ministry helping those who are dealing with Same-Sex Attraction (SSA) and desire to live according to God's will.

If we don't repent of our sins as a nation and get right with God, we will have to deal with much worse than 9/11.

Looks like the lid cracked wide open during the latest Catholic homosexual priest scandal. I wonder if there's anything of a personal nature that the Reverend Kaylor needs to explain to his congregation. Perhaps the choir can shed some light. Hypocracy is a sin too.

In fighting against Abortion and the Sodomite Agenda, we need to support any denominational Christian who is fighting the good fight of faith.

God bless Anne Graham Lotz.

They gaystapo will use any means necessary to silence people who oppose them. Is there any doubt that if enough of these people get into positions of control, that those of us who speak out against them will lose our jobs, be branded as mentally deficient, be sued or arrested for committing a 'hate' crime?

It's happening already. We've got to start holding our politicians accountable for the spread of this perversion. Anti-traditional family politicians have to go!

"A man shall not lie with a man as with a woman for it is an abomination to the Lord." Seems pretty clear to me.

"Lotz called homosexuality one of several sins from which man needed to repent, noting that the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks brought a message from God: 'Repent of your sin and get right with Me.'"

The important point here however is not just homosexuality. Over the course of history, when God's people turned their face from him, he rendered terrible judgments on them--a good example was in 6005 BC when he withdrew the blessing of his protection from Israel, permitting Nebucednezer to destroy the country.

We have lots of other sin to repent also. Our society is structured around the denial of God's authority--our social contact violates all of God's commandments on a dail basis. It is reasonable to expect that if we do not repent and change our conduct, he will destroy the United States.

You are absolutely right, Siobhan. There are lots of people who do not want to be faced with the Truth.

So Mrs. Lotz walked the soprano section?! LOL -- yeah, I think she'll be backing down soon, if she has to choose between the rock of her belief and currying favor with waspish snap queens.

I agree with you that there is a program of demonization in progress, what one middlebrow magazine writer described as "defining deviancy up" for moral, middle-class Christian whites in America, and "defining deviancy down" for all the rest. As long as you don't try to live a just life, as long as you aren't white or American or any of the other hate-puppet markers, you get a pass.

I'm reminded of one Houston preacher's videotaped sermon that I caught in passing while dialing around late one Sunday night, 10 years ago or so. He said that, if you think you have trouble, if you think life is hard, if you think your existence is beset with difficulty.......then just wait and see what happens when you come forward and witness, and announce yourself to The Antagonist.

I think that's just about what is happening to Mrs. Lotz.

Thanks for the post.

"Jesus . . . . . especially welcomed those who were rejected by others."

No, He didn't. He welcomed those who accepted Him, regardless of whether they were rejected by others.

Does this mean they who walked out will be staying out? Maybe more of this is what's needed to clean up the mess the congregations are in today...

If you are a Christian or Jew who believes that what is written in the Bible is or is inspired by the word of God, then you believe that homosexual conduct is sinful. Homosexual activity is clearly and repeatedly characterized as sin in the Bible. Now, not everyone believes that and that is their right. But I DO believe that, and that is MY right. I have tons of compassion (and no hate) for people who are afflicted with the pyschological disorder of homosexuality, and in manys cases their lives are difficult. And true, Jesus did search out sinners with love and compassion to minister to. But he never OK'd their sin. What is truly perverse is characterizing Christians who do take the Bible as the word of God as hateful. Nothing is further from the truth.

To be a child of God, there is no other choice.
These "think" they are offended now. If the sinful, no matter what the transgressions are, fail to heed God's commandments and do not turn FROM their wickedness, and do not seek to sin any more, their offences will eventually be far greater than the verbal rebukes given now...

We agree on this. I am not a huge fan of the Grahams generally..but the Bible is clear that Homosexuality is sin..no matter how you cut it.

This is ,I am guessing, an apostate mainline church..no evangelical, bible believing Calvinistic church would agree with this man!

Anne Grahm Lotz has it right and I truly respect her for voicing her thoughts. Too bad for those who walked out, they must have some sort of guilt there or they would have stayed and listened. When a society embraces homosexuality like we have today, they are destroyed. History has proven it. I suggest we begin to listen to people like Mrs. Lotz who know what they are talking about. It's not too late.

Sin is a loaded word. Why not just call it what it is: A PERVERSION.

The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks brought a message from God: "Repent of your sin and get right with Me."

It is truly bizarre that the political Left and Evangelicals both play the self-blame game that America is guilty and responsible for 9/11. Leftists claim that it is America's fault because we oppress Muslims and don't understand them. Evangelicals claim that extremists Muslims are God's agents in punishing America for its sinfulness. Holy crap!

It just goes to show you that Leftists aren't the only whackos in America.
