Hillary Demands 'Immediate' Answers on Bush 9-11 Heads Up

In the clearest sign yet that Democrats intend to make political hay over the news that President Bush received a pre-9-11 CIA warning about possible al Qaeda airline hijackings, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton suggested Thursday that it was time for the White House to come clean.

"Clearly the public demands answers immediately," she told reporters, adding, "The people of New York deserve those answers more than anyone."

Clinton complained that the Bush administration had taken over eight months reveal the CIA briefing, and advised that the Bush administration should release all relevant information without further delay.

"I believe that getting the facts out would be the very best response to this troubling news," she urged.

Mrs. Clinton wasn't asked about claims from former officials of her husband's administration who have told reporters that he ignored repeated warnings of al Qaeda terrorist activity against the U.S., including a 1995 plot to hijack a dozen airliners and crash them into U.S. office buildings.
