A homerun, IMHO. Kudos.
I would start with something like "the intelligence info provided to Bush was of the generic sort they've seen for years and did not provide enough specifics on dates, locations and methods for any action to be taken etc etc". And then add your killer lines. That way you meet the charge on two levels - intellectual level and sheeple level.
Dammit! I need to spend less time on this whole 'getting married' thing and more time thinking about rebuttals to the Democrat Smear Machine.
Actually -- as horrible a person as Clinton is, and as negligent as he was to not take bin Ladin -- even without bin Ladin, this might have happened. The wheels were set in motion in 1995, immediately after the failed WTC bombing.
And a flat tax of 14%.
And, and, um, what else? Uh....An amendment barring reparations, and no Democrat governorships, and a repeal of the NFA, and the repeal of the 16th and 17th amendments.

We are sometimes forced to make judgments, and take action, on incomplete knowledge, hampered by derision from those who have an agenda for undercutting your efforts, and at the same time trying to maintain your moral integrity. If Dubya HAD adequate advance knowledge and had issued a warning, would these nay-sayers have listened? Likely not, they would have pooh-poohed any call for alertness as war-mongering and race-baiting with the Islamic world.
Nobody knew, nor could it have been anticipated, that jet airliners could or would have been used for a guided missile. There had been speculation, in fictional writings, that it may have been possible, but no rational person would have undertaken such a self-destructive action.
Unfortunately, we are not dealing with rational people when we encounter the Islamists.
COMMON SENSE ... a rare, and yet beautiful, concept.
EXACTLY. Many people spent WEEKS after 9-11, face to face, attempting to make the public inderstand that NO ONE knew WHEN, WHERE or even WHETHER an attack would take place.
Given the total lack of important information, preventing the atrocities of 9-11 would be analogous to attempting to stop hundreds of thousands of careless hikers from starting wildfires by hiring somebody to find every one of them and follow them step by step through the woods, stamping out lit cigarrettes carelessly dropped into dry brush, and putting out still-smoldering campfires.
Such a thing is IMPOSSIBLE. It canNOT be done!
Oh well. I thought it was original, and no matter what, only I have thought of publicizing it here, where activists will carry the message forth.
(I gotta take my little victories where I can find them...) ;^)
And I have the appropriate rebuttal to the photo-flap earlier this week. Let's resurrect the picture of Clinton apologists Markie Post and Linda Thomases jumping up and down on the Lincoln bed. That'll shut them up.
