Excellant response.

I heard Chris 'Hardboiled' Matthews comparing it to 'What if FDR knew about Pearl Harbor?.

I thought that was a horrible anology. Since...

We would have known what country was attacking - Japan

We would have known that the instrument of attack would have been one of a limited number of Japanese fleets.

Targets would have been limited to Pacific Islands or maybe a west coast city.

What leads Chris to believe that he didn't? It turned America around on the issue of "entering" the already active World War.

There has been evidence to suggest that diplomats were turned away and information was ignore regarding Pearl Harbor. Certainly more evidence to suggest that FDR had a more complete picture than President Bush could have possibly gathered even if a terrorist had spilled the beans on everything he knew.

This still didn't stop FDR from announcing his re-election campaign from a navy ship. But Bush offering contributors a photo of him on the phone???
