Al Qaeda May Be Mulling Apartment Attack, FBI Says
Sat May 18, 7:43 PM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Saudi-born militant Osama bin Laden (news - web sites)'s al Qaeda network may be considering staging attacks on apartment buildings in the United States, the FBI (news - web sites) said on Saturday.
The FBI has received information that al Qaeda operatives are "considering renting apartments in unspecified areas of the United States and then planting explosives," said FBI spokeswoman Debbie Weierman.
The information was "nonspecific" and "uncorroborated," Weierman said.
During the last few days, the FBI has passed the potential threat on to its field offices around the country as well as to local officials and apartment building managers and owners, Weierman said.
Weierman said the FBI has issued no official alerts, and put out the notices "only in an abundance of caution." She said there was "no reason to believe (the threat) has gone past the discussion phase."

Our clamoring to know everything govt knows is opening us up for
the greatest disinformation campaign in history. Lost in a blizzard of false tips,
the real attack rides chaos to the target.

President Bush should flat out tell the Muslims (Arabs) that if there are any more attachs on the US we would systematically destroy every Muslim Holy Site beginning with Mecca and Medina.
If they want a war let's give them a real war.

"no reason to believe (the threat) has gone past the discussion phase."
So, you'll let us know if it gets beyond the discussion phase, right. I am so relieved. (end sarcasm)

You mean like what just happened in Yonkers???????????There weren't any explosions in Yonkers. Some Egyptian brought back some poisoned food and fed it to family members. Definitely a crime, but they poisoned each other, not the public at large.

Well, I was wondering, too. The people involved were Egyptians; not much more information given about them, unfortunately. Were they victims of a personal enemy who happened to have access to cyanide, or friends of an Egyptian Muslim (don't forget, Egypt has an active Muzzie fundamentalist presence) who was fiddling around with cyanide?

Ya know, this would be a "good" idea. One could simply fill the entire apartment on the first floor with explosives (every day adding a little more), and in the middle of the night, take down the whole building.

They do this and literally every Arab-looking individual's life in the apartment complexes will be at extreme risk. And to protect us from the evils of racial profiling, the feds will step up the random pat-down searches of 84-year old Chinese grandmothers and 3-year old white boys.

Did anyone lose another loan to Ditech? This is horrible...if they went this route. I was thinking about this but in a very remote way. Now I see the Fed's on this thinking pattern. Take out hundreds at a time for sure in the comforts of their own home. Housing sales are going to be up for sure next quarter.

The media asked for this, they are now going to be inundated with possible attack scenerios.
If played right, the White House can keep them out of trouble for a while with 'busy work'.
