To: pubmom, CyberAnt, Howlin, Miss Marple,
Today's Proverbs come from Chapter 16 - and sum up the them of the entire book: The value of Godly Wisdom.

After today, I plan to bring snippets from the Psalms to the Daily Dose since I have used and resued much of the Proverbs - and since the Psalms contain words and insights that we need as much as those from Proverbs. If you don't want to be on the Daily Dose Psalms ping list, let me know by Freepmail. If you did not get pinged and want to be for this, let me know.

(And thank you, Miss Marple and others, for the kind comments recently. These Daily Dose Proverbs fit into the issues at hand and I am appreciative of this opportunity to put them before any who are helped by them (and by Psalms as we go forward).

So, thanks to Rintense, we have this opportunity - and, by the way, the pictures posted here of Laura Bush recently have been quite wonderful. President Bush needs our prayers especially now. Thank GOD for him and for VP Cheney's tremendous skills and presence today on MTP - which I missed. I am sure President Bush deeply values VP Cheney's presence and strong "truth speaking" as displayed today. And, more than ever, our prayers for our country, for Pres Bush, Mrs. Bush, VP Cheney, for Condi Rice and Rumsfeld, and for all those in Congress and in our security agencies and in our military are needed. And continue praying for the confounding, for the confusing, for the exposing of those who are evil and violent people. Pray for God to bring these evildoers DOWN into the dust.

from Proverbs 16:

12 Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness.

13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth.

14 A king's wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will appease it.

15 When a king's face brightens, it means life; his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.

16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!

17 The highway of the upright avoids evil; he who guards his way guards his life.

18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.

20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.

21 The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction.

22 Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools.

23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.

24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
