I think your icon idea is excellent. Goodness knows they have enough useless junk cluttering up the cable news channel screens. This would be a good public service.
Being informed will help make the daily decisions a little easier. Being more attentive to "intuition" or that little small voice that seems to know what's best in surreal(best word I can come up with for an example) situations.
