Incredible as it seems, open-borders advocates are now saying the federal government is responsible for ensuring the safety of those who try to come here illegally.

This statement is just a tad broad. I am an "open-border advocate" and do not support placing watering holes for people illegally crossing the border.

I would agree with you. Sometimes it's not just the liberal media that's prone to over-generalization. I would also say I'm an open border advocate (maybe more in theory than in practice these days though), but at the same time I think we need to have a lot of scrutiny over just who is coming in and if they don't belong here, make sure they get out when they're supposed to.

I also don't think we need to make "aiding and abetting" a criminal act, namely illegal immigration, part of our official national policy.
