"Freeper Wins Republican Primary for U.S. Senate".
5-20-02 | Jay Wolfe

Posted on 05/20/2002 7:05:51 PM PDT by JayWolfe

It is with great pleasure that I announce to my Freeper Friends that I won the primary election last week in West Virginia. So, in WV it is the Right Jay against the Left Jay. Any Freepers looking for a good place to spend their summer vacation and help us defeat Jay Rockefeller, come on out.

I'll be in DC the next couple of days trying to raise a little money. If you know of a conservative PAC that might want to help, please let me know at jaywolfe@iolinc.net. You can check out my new web site at www.jaywolfe.net.

Best wishes, Jay Wolfe

I visited http://www.geocities.com/kanaell/opinions/campaignplan.html and it was awesome. More conservatives need this and to study the hints. It even helped me undertand what lame campaigns some republicans run. They apparently have rookies running their campaign.

Those of you not from W.Va. may not fully grasp how destructive the likes of Rockefeller and Byrd have been to the people of this state. The people here - formerly and traditionally independent - have permitted themselves to become the worst kind of dependent children, looking to the fed gubmint for all their basic needs. Our towns and colleges receive federal grants for the most unnecessary things, but as long as they keep naming the buildings, bridges and outhouses after Byrd or Rocky, the money keeps flowing.

Rockefeller's connection to the state is only slightly greater than Hillary's to New York. He cares more about Japan than the people of W.Va. who keep him in D.C.

It's time for a change. Please support Jay Wolfe. You know this is a huge challenge for him, but nothing is impossible.

How wonderful it was to see WV at last vote for its own interests and economic growth, by supporting Bush in the last election. Dems had almost driven everyone out, eliminated all jobs, and given the place back to the varmints in the woods.

Push em to death on the NRA the guns and the second amendment, and above all call the damned Rats literally that, bigots and enemies of Christ and Christians, and nail them to death on abortion, baby killing, social issues, immorality, gay libbers, freaks of all kinds, Nail them for support of NEA, PAW, throwing prayer out of schools, not allowing display of 10 commandments, ACLU, ADL, letting sex ed and pro-gay into public schools, affirmative action, anti-white discrim, ...

I had a great-uncle that lived to be 95, who always said there would be no Democrats in heaven, get that across and drive Rockefeller out. That would be my advice. Get saved (if not already) and push it, would be my advice to Wolfe.

Congratulations, my friend! I never doubted for a minute you would reach this point.

When we had our conversations at CPAC, it was apparent you had the drive, the intelligence and the commitment for the job...and the principles you represent are WINNING principles!!

Focus on the core reasons that Rockefeller has violated his oath to protect and preserve our Constitution and the security of the American people...his total disregard for the Jeffersonian principles of Life and Liberty.

As a Daschle Democrat, he has empowered the abortion industry...strengthened the gun-grabbers who would remove our God-given, unalienable right to protect our families and our republic...supported the CFR bill which is a body blow to protected First Amendment political speech....supported the Dems consistent attempts (many successful) to break down and weaken our national security...etc., etc., etc.

Just as you are communicating directly with the FReeper community, build such a deep and thorough grassroots support network that you will have the ability to communicate directly with the citizens of WV.

Hammer him over, and over and over again...don't let up...and don't let the 'experts' tell you to run some wimpy campaign that will only let Rockefeller off the hook in the end.

Our prayers are with you, and our support...at least where we can spare bullets from our portion of the battlefield! ;-)

With the highest regards,
EV

Im not blowing smoke

Its common sense and has facts as to how we are the party of positive influence. Promote equality, work ethic and freedom to protect ourselves and of the unborn.... Most people just think the majority is so moderate you have to hide your conservative beliefs or move them to the left to be considered but its the medias influencing the real facts. I would venture to say most Americans are conservative who value life and protection of their family...just run with that stuff and villainize those who want to take away those freedoms and do it with the people. not like hillary. Who wont even get near anyone who makes under 100K a yr.

Leadership cacophony on the Hill is ridiculous indeed, given the difficulties of the times. Jay, you got a serious job for sure. There is nothing candid about it, and God speed with you.

Propping up inefficient industries which buy off politicians is even more determintal to our citizenry.

BTW Pat is gone for good thankfully. He has been talking even more like an idiot than usual lately.

What a great foreign policy he would have given us. A Saddam 10x as strong since Pat would have allowed him to keep Kuwait and probably Saudi Arabia too. What a putz.

Good luck.

I imagine that West VA is a lot like the UP in Michigan. Very rural, lots of union members, democrat leaning, but social conservative.

I would play up the social issues. I'd make sure I'd have WVA Right to life on your side, farm bureau is another one, although that's probably bigger in Michigan based on geography. I'd go to every NRA event around since Gore lost on probably this issue and Right to Life more than any other.

Most importantly, I'd go door to door, and to every GOP and NRA event. This is a pure grass roots campaign.

And if Bush can win West VA AND the UP, it's possible to pull it off. No one thought John Engler would win in 1990 either.

Thanks for the kind words. Of course you're right. America is many times more Conservative than it seems. The only thing is that the Media (which is damn near 100% Leftist) portrays it as being far less so.

I place a lot of emphasis on the power of the media nowadays because they're immensely powerful. It can almost be said now that our government is now no longer of or for the people. Today, The Press, not the people, decides what the issues of the day are. Politicians no longer do what they do to get the approval of their constituents but the approval of editorial writers and columnists, and for favorable coverage in the Press.

Making certain the Press's power is curbed (by exposing their Leftist sympathies, not harming their Free Speech rights) should be major goal of the GOP. My ideal candidate would actually try to get the political positions supported by as many of his state's major newspaper reporters and editors and develop a very public labelling system for them, i.e. 'R' for Right-Leaning and 'L' for Left-Leaning and treat them accordingly.

And finally, the word "moderate" (as in your post) is a pet peeve of mine. It's one of the subtlest forms of bias that the Media inject into their reporting. What is the meaning of "moderate"? Look up it's synonyms (on MS Word for example); reasonable, modest, judicious, sensible, restrained, temperate, fair, etc. By implication, what does it mean if you are not "moderate", i.e. "immoderate"?

Have you noticed that no Conservative Republican has ever been called a "moderate" unless he votes the media's way on an issue? Haven't you noticed how the media constantly calls Leftist positions on issues like Abortion (Partial Birth Abortion Is Wonderful), School Choice (Under No Circumstances), Racial Preferences (Now And Forever), Gay Marriage (It's Only Proper), Gay Adoption (It's About Civil Rights), Gun Control (Repeal The Second Amendment), Environment (Human Beings Are A Cancer) and Taxes (The Higher The Better) as "moderate"?

The word is loaded. I avoid using it.

Good point.... Moderate has been burned into my mind and im guilty of falling into the trap. The people who sit on an issue waiting to see where the majority sways is the provervial picket up their butt.

Ill call them unprincipled. Anyone else, leftist.
