Am I wrong, or didn't we read early on that Clinton turned down the offer to get bin Laden? Wasn't that something we read here right from the beginning. I'm desperately trying to remember WHERE I read it; it was quite detailed.

I'm desperately trying to remember WHERE I read it; it was quite detailed. Yeah, I'm with you. I'm a little sparse on recalling all the details, but it seems to me
like it was the Saudis (??) that called when clintoon was in office and told him that
ObL was scheduled to take a flight from "A" to "B" to "C" and that he could be held
for the U.S. to intercept him at point "B", but the clintoon White House passed it up.....

In Sudan. The Sudanese regime may be made up of Islamic fundamentalists but they wanted no part of Bin Laden's war. They invited OBL to Sudan because he brought money and construction jobs. Sudan wanted to get rid of him but but for some reason I do not remember Clinton refused the offer of his arrest. Google searching brings so many hits on the subject I do not have the time to scan them.
