Where were Condit and Levy on April 30 until 4:30 am?

Why would Chandra Levy be on the comp looking at maps of a place that she already frequented, knew well? Why would she write an email to her parents that she would be leaving in 7 to 10 days if her suitcases were already packed? Why would she be on the net looking at air fares and train fares, if, as she wrote a friend earlier, her mystery boyfriend had already paid her airfare? Did they find her keys?

What I want to know is:

Up until now Condit had a rational reason to be doing strange things in the caverns of remote Virginia in the middle of the night, i.e., he was burying a body.

But if that wasn't the reason, then, what was a member of the Intelligence Committee doing there?,
Whom did he plan to meet there?

Is it possible that there might be something, totally different and potentially much bigger than Chandra Levy going on?

Buy it. Recently I had first hand experience with so-called infallible search dogs. They sniffed an entire building but the owner found burglars in the bathroom standing on the watercloset. Doogy doggy don't get a bone. Body was there, bub, but just like in the case of Christine Williams the area search came up short. Too bad Gar didn't go with the original search party. Course, he's a very important and busy man. So busy these days that he ain't makin' his Congressional votes like the old Gar. Truth is he never did care about his district, only keeping his job.

Why do I get the feeling that Condidit will skate? Could it be that he would bring down House if convicted? I was watching as the Chief of the DC police described this as a "death investigation"! How about a MURDER INVESTIGATION, you idiot?! Sounds like the fix is in to me.

One explanation would be that she intended to go on a short vacation before returning home. There may be a mystery boyfriend with whom she intended to travel. He may not be involved with the murder. (If the guy had not been introduced to the parents, he may have felt that it was a somewhat "awkward" time to come forward.)

On the other hand, she may not have packed herself. The murderer(s) could have taken her keys, returned to the apartment, and packed her bags in order to foul up the timelines. This would have clearly been a person who knew her.

I wasn't being a smart butt, fussybut. I just thought being that you just signed on the day this broke, you just might have some first-hand information concerning your questions. That happens around here from time to time.

The first thing I thought of was did they find her keys? If not, they may have been used to go back to her apartment to sanitize it and plant mis-leading clues.

Condit took the afternoon off. This time, he wasn't visiting a massage parlor under an assumed name to get his body waxed. No sirree Bob. This time it was to kill his inconvenient ex-girlfriend and bury her body in a shallow grave.

BTW, now that they found the body, do you think Condit will restore that bit on his web-site about how much he likes to go trail-biking in Rock Creek Park?

Nothing I heard in the news indicated the keys were found, so I guess we'll have to wait. If her radio was found at the location, chances are the keys are somewhere close by . . . unless they were taken by the perp(s) and not brought back. Not smart.

I don't have any direct knowledge, just what I have read here and news media. Just that it doesn't add up. Obviously it was unusual for Condit's wife to be in Washington because Levy had previously hoped to move in with him. Was she there to create an alibi? Levy's apt was cleaned of fingerprints and mementoes, but not dirty dishes? My theory is that she actually disappeared at 4:31 a.m.; same time the screams were heard and 911 was called. The perp, or conspirator went back to her apt, cleaned prints, evidence, and left evidence on her comp that would be misleading and buy time. I suspect that she was possibly even removed to a different state, her body and clothing cleaned to prevent forensic evidence, and then later placed where it would be found. Just a theory! I was just speculating that the timeline could be wrong. What if she went outside the building at 4:30 a.m. to meet someone? Maybe to walk outside with her lover? Since her running shoes were found in her apt, it doesn't even make sense that left without them to jog the next day. Maybe the clothes found with her remains are not even her clothes. The e-mails and web sites visited on her comp on May 1 do not make sense. They are not consistent with e-mails already recieved by friends and family. FreeRepublic is one of the sites reported visited on her comp that day. What thread did she visit? Were comments left or deleted? Is everyone here guessing or did anyone actually know Chandra?

I heard the cop say "death investigation" too, & thought the same thing, Gary's getting a pass. A healthy 24 year old woman has a stroke & dies in a wooded park & is not found for a year even tho' hundreds of people are looking for her. Yeah sure! Bodies smell awful when they are decomposing, she was either buried & rain washed her up or she was somewhere else & moved.

OK, here's another version.

Carolyn Condit called Gary's apartment and had a phone conversation with Chandra. Carolyn immediately flys to D.C. with the excuse she was going to a White House Tea. Don't know if anyone checked to see how far in advance she needed to make the reservation without penalty, OR she used Gary's frequent flyer miles. Carolyn hated DC social life, and rarely went there.

Gary tells Chandra he is getting her reservations, but never makes them. He does, however use this reason to lure her to the Park, so she can pick up the fictious ticket. He didn't want anyone to witness them together, he tells her. He either killed her, or had someone else do it.
