Where was it she worked again?

I suppose we will be learning that as the investigation goes forward. There is enough there to review some of the facts.

According to the news reports, Chandra Levy's body was found near the intersection of Broad Branch Rd and Brandywine St, in Rock Creek Park. My DC map book shows this location to be only a couple thousand feet from Park Police HQ on Glover Rd, in RCP. And the police did an exhaustive and thorough search of the park last summer.
I hope they'll pardon my skepticism about the whole invstigation, from when Ms. Levy was first reported missing to the discovery of her body.

I don't know the DC area, but from reports the terrain where she was found is rather rough. I don't think she was murdered somehere else and then carried to the park. It would be very difficult to carry her body to this remote area. It would have to be done under cover of darkness, a heavy body carried a long distance into an area with lots of brush and uneven ground.
I think she was killed in the park. So the questions are:
- Why did she go to the park?
- Was she killed by someone she knew or a total stranger?
If she didn't have her jogging shoes and clothes on, then she must have gone to the park to meet someone she knew, unless she was forced to go there at gun point.
At any rate, the DC police are totally incompetent.

That is my point. No one physically saw her after Apr 30. If the screams heard on the morning of May 1 were her. Someone went to great effort to cover the exact time of her disapearance.

It probably would not be that difficult to carry a bag of bones to that area. It should be simple enough to determine if the body decomposed there. If it didn't, then someone scattered her bones in that area after.

"The perp, or conspirator went back to her apt, cleaned prints, evidence, and left evidence on her comp that would be misleading and buy time." I'll have to go back and study the time lines on the emails, etc. There are so many details about this thing that I can't remember half of them. Nice going on your theory...
Take care....

That seems unlikely to me.
I would guess she was killed in the park, rather close to where she was found.

Perhaps not just "let the body rot" but accelerate the decomposition and clean the body of forensic evidence.

I thought the phrase would be "suspected homicide", but then I never got into law enforcement.

Had we ever heard about a Walkman before this? I thought the story was she left the apt. with only her keys, nothing else. Now we're hearing a walkman or headphones were found near the bones.

I wonder if Condit was with Levy the night of Apr 30. That would explain why her room was cleaned of fingerprints. DNA evidence? Perhaps she walked outside the apt building with him about 4:30 a.m. and screamed when she was attacked by someone. Probably hit on the back of the head and thrown into a car that disappeared with her. The park theory was just a red herring.
To: fussybutt
Condit was so concerned about being caught that I seriously doubt that he ever visited her apartment. Would be too easy for her to have one of those tiny cameras advertised on those annoying popup ads, and thus easier for her to blackmail him. Same for the wife coming over, security-conscious Chandra would never have let her in at 4:30 in the morning. But perhaps an acquaintance of Gary whom he had told her to trust...
BTW, you're Freepname makes me laugh(and think that I may have dated you!)

Good question, mountaineer. One more thing to check the archives on.

While we're asking about people's whereabouts, where was Bill Clinton on April 30 and May 1? For that matter, where was Hillary between 9 and 11 AM on 9/11?

Her apt was cleaned of fingerprints for some reason. I don't believe the girl used the comp, sent an email to her parents saying she would be home in 7 to 10 days, (10 days would have been past her grad date) then took time to clean the fingerprints off the comp and the rest of the room, before she went out for a jog. Maybe this is a case for "Detective Fussybutt".
a topic from my 44th birthday. :') Condit-Levy, a retrospective, at the museum of modern FR.
