Yes, but these dogs are trained to search huge areas....their powers of scent are enormous, and the decay odor is very specific...in training exercises, the dogs always find the remains. Also, the polce cadets dig a grid search on the verynear the area where she was found. It's inconceivable that they wouldn't run a cadaver dog over the same area as the police walked.

the park is 1700 acres.....that's a big area. Yes, but searching less than all of the park is ridiculous. I have no idea how long it takes one cadaver dog to cover an acre. But, given the serious nature of the crime (a US Congressman is a suspect), I presume enough dogs could have been brought to the scene for a thorough search that would have taken less than a month.

It's 1700 acres, but they didn't have to search all of it. Just the heavily wooded, not easily accessible bits where someone could hide a body.
