I am fairly certain that the Von Braun reference is not named for Werner Von Braun.
Von Braun was the name of one of the German scientists that we brought over to help work on our space program. He was one of the chief individuals responsible for the rockets we used in the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs. If memory serves, he designed the Saturn V rocket: the one we used for the Moonshot.
