Dick Morris: Hillary in National Security Makeover
NewsMax.com ^ | 5/23/02 | Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff

Dick Morris, the former White House political guru who succeeded in getting Bill Clinton reelected by overhauling his too-liberal image, warns that Hillary Clinton may be attempting to do the same thing.

After reviewing quotes from the New York Senator's speech Friday night - a presidential-sounding national security address ignored by the rest of the press - Morris tells NewsMax.com:

"If Hillary can reinvent herself as a New Yorker, why can't she reinvent herself as a national security expert?"

In a 45 minute address delivered just 24 hours after she questioned whether the Bush administration had mishandled key 9-11 national security information, Clinton told a friendly Dix Hills, N.Y. audience that national security should now be America's top priority.

Number two on Hillary's new post 9-11 agenda for America: homeland security. After that, said Mrs. Clinton, comes everything else that was important before 9-11.

Will Hillary be able to pull off her national security makeover in light of her husband's sorry performance in the field?

No problem, says Morris.

While "her husband's record on preparing America for 9-11 would make her reinvention somewhat suspect, she does seem to surmount such inconvenient obstacles, doesn't she?" he told NewsMax.

Read excerpts from Sen. Clinton's groundbreaking speech covered only by NewsMax.com: Hillary: National Security is My New Top Priority.

Dick Morris is the author of the blockbuster new book, "Power Plays: Win or Lose – How History's Great Political Leaders Play the Game."

Yep, with the aid of the media, who wouldn't think of offending hillary! by asking her anything that remotely resembles a hardball question.

Just another attempt on the part of the toe-sucker to get his name in the news as a political image expert.

"Dick Morris is the author of the blockbuster new book ..."

Somehow I have a hard time with the words "Dick Morris and blockbuster book" in the same sentence.

National Security is the TOP priority of the Bush Administration, Hillary, and they can manage without you, thank you all the same.

That "two for the price of one" nonsense they were peddling in their first run at the White House has a new & eerie meaning when you look at that picture, doesn't it?

They will never go away, so only by making their utterances sound as foolish as anything Jimmy Carter has to say, will they become marginalized. If Hillary is the best and brightest the Dems have, they have troubles :-)

Hi, sheik... yes, you are right about that.

You know, I have seen some awful and truly horrible things in my life
( and no, I won't talk about them; they still give me nightmares )
but just about any pictures of those building when they were hit, burning, and falling rank right there at the top.

I could go through the laundry-list of charges against the clintons, but why bother?
The facts condemn them.

A small version of a different shot:

Their polling data must show something, now what could it be.......

Maybe no one takes the Demos/Hitlery seriously, especially on national security issues.

"Why, yes, I do know a lot about national security. Why, my husband once fired off cruise missles to keep me from finding out about his lying under oath about an affair he was having. If that's not national security, I don't know what is."

And we must not forget her version of Airport protection is to run over the police that are protecting us.

Yep! Hillary would do a fine job of getting us all killed.

OK, Free Republic trivia: what was the type of aircraft that rescued "Il Duche" from his mountaintop prison?

Hint: it was a German Luftwaffe aircraft.

DFS-230 light assault gliders .....some of which never took off with their tow planes or crashed badly on landing. It was a suicide mission but remarkably succeeded. A Feisler Storch recconaisance bird flew him off the mountiantop. Remarkable story. Of course, little good for Il Dulce it proved. Not long afterwards he was swinging by his polished boot heels...along with his mistress I think?
