For almost a year now, many of us have wondered why Calpine seemed to have a free pass on all criticism from the Davis administration, although they were in there "gouging" with the rest of them. My theory all along has been that CALPERS was invested heavily in Calpine stock. Time will tell...

CalPine may have only been on Phase One of Herr Davis's special treatment of corporations.

Herr Davis's special treatment in Phase one is based on campaign contributions, and the corporations mouthing mantras from the big hitters in the Rat party. To be a prime Phase One corporation, you just have to donate and appear to be in bed with the Rats/Davis.
