Of course, letting the press know they are getting under your skin and tailoring your speeches to counter them only makes them feel more important.

I watched this press conference and that french guy kept looking at the ceiling when he was answering a question. He was biting his lip and squinting really hard and I kept thinking what's the freeking problem bud the questions are easy--you're supposed to be so smart and everything -IDIOT !

The fact was the press asked Bush 99% of the questions and didn't care what the Frenchy guy said !

Gregory got his pee-pee publicly whacked by the President of the United States for a very good reason: he (Gregory) was being rude, openly confrontative, and obnoxious. For good measure, Bush was right on another point: the man was showing off.

Gregory should tuck his tail between his legs and slither home on the next available flight. Instead, he'll probably wear his dressing-down as a badge of honor.

For years, I have tried to be reasonable, rational, and thoughtful of rude and insulting people. I have come to the conclusion that you can't "talk" decency into them--and ignoring them just makes them worse. The only effective way I have been able to deal with a louse is to laugh at him. Liberals and the Press, as a rule, have overinflated egos filled with hot air. Humor and ridicule seem to be the only way to burst their bubbles of self importance.
