My son is a ninth-grader in government class in public H.S. He calls the class "liberal class" and is learning of the "fairness of socialism" and how well it is working in Europe. After describing the values of a conservative, several kids asked if conservatives were a bunch of racists. The teacher's response was "that's just what they believe". There was also sufficient whining about the Bush/Gore election and how unfair it was and how with the electoral college "our votes don't even count". My son said "Its like the teacher says it's not worth it to vote". The school's description of the class says the class teaches the student how to be a good American citizen. I'm prepared to take them on but I'm not sure how successful I'll be. On another note, I'm new but have followed and read for about a year. Enjoyed it and learned a lot.

I've got an idea for a civics lesson for your kid.
Go down to the courthouse and help him learn how to file a lawsuit in small-claims court, demanding that the school district refund the portion of your tax dollars which they have used fraudulently in presenting this anti-American class while representing it as teaching good citizenship.
Then once you've filed the suit, help him contact the media with a press release to publicize his case. That'll be a useful education in "public communications" for him.
Win or lose, you'll expose the little rodents for what they are...
