This is news? Christian, other religious and even non-religions private schools in the U.S. are legally allowed to teach anti-Semitism as well -- they can also teach that homosexuals deserve death, that some races are "superior" to others and that looking at ones own genitals leads to eternal damnation. (note that I'm not claiming that any Christian/private school actually does teach such things, just that legally they can). Would some FReepers want to legally restrict what tenents certain religions are allowed to hold?

Amen. Freedom of association should be absolute and freedom of speech must be safeguarded at all costs. I take no issue with what some Islamic school wishes to teach. Its probably no worse than the idiocy that comes out of the mouths of the professors at many universities.

Problem is, we look upon islam as a religion.
In actuality, it is a polical ideology, advocating world domination and a global state run upon the personal, sociological, theological and political tenets of islam.
We have not figured this out yet. It's like we allowed Marxist Leninists to run schools and indoctrination centers, summercamps and whatnot during the 50's. Of course, communism pales in comparison to islam in the danger it poses to all non-muslim states all around the world.
