Even before that Texas thought that their western border should have been the Rio Grande. They sent some folks over to tell the New Mexicans. They got lost. The New Mexicans chewed them up and spit them out. Texas whipped the Mexicans but the New Mexicans whipped the Texans.

BTW, I thought the Mexicans disliked Santa Anna almost as much as the Texans. So how would teaching this history make Mexicans feel bad?
