Moderator: No hard feelings if you move this to General Interest. Wasn't sure, myself. Thought perhaps it belonged here because much in the blogging world is definitely a form of activism, and any news that the lamestream media is "losing it" is very welcome news indeed. :-)

Thanks for posting this. I made a note of some of the links to "blogging" sites. I think the internet is great for this reason.

I've got a few blogging sites already bookmarked. Some of them are quite good. Such as this excellent
Red Sox fan's blogger. I thought of doing one but then I thought...I already do one. Here at Free Republic, of course. Free Republic is one giant blogger if you think about it and we are all part of it. Someday, my grandkids are going to be doing a search on "SamAdams76" and will pull up all my posts here.
How you doing grandkids? I hope I'm still alive as you read this.

Lately I seem to be spending more time visiting Blogs than perusing FreeRepublic. I don't know precisely why except that I do get annoyed with some of the obnoxious jerks that post here.
James Lileks is highly recommended. His "Screeds" (part of the daily Bleat) are outstanding. If you want to laugh until you cry, visit some of the locations contained within "the INSTITUTE of OFFICIAL CHEER". I recommend "The Gallery of Regrettable Food" and "The Dorcus Collection" as starting points.

Here is one for ya, but a word of warning.. go here hanging on to your hat, ego and temper. Do that and you will have a very good time. She is exactly what she claims to be and the writing is top notch.http://www.misanthropic-bitch.com/

Big-government fans like The American Prospect and The Nation seem to imagine that blogs, which are by definition creatures of the free market, ought to be pre-approved by some sort of official bureaucracy. The tongue-clucking reminds me of the teacher's pet who was always raising her hand to protest, "Miss Jones! Miss Jones! Johnnie's reading ahead again! Unsupervised!"
ROTFLMAO!!!!
The teachers pet and Miss Jones are one in the same. Just ask Hillary. What was it that she said about freedom and the Internet? It amounted to, "we have to rethink the Internet because anybody can write anything and there's no editor or control."

But you'd never know all that from Beam's dismissive attitude, which began with this e-mail request to Lileks for a quote: "James, weren't you once a talented humor writer? Why are you churning out this web dreck?"
"Why yes I'm a somewhat talented writer and having you in the audience was stinking up the place. That's when I became concerned that you might be contagious. BTW, thanks for noticing."
