The more time passes, the more likely it is that Osama sleeps with the fishes.

Sometimes a B-52 can outperform a CIA Case Officer.

We don't need to infiltrate our own. We DO need to make it VERY attractive ($$$$$$) for a local to betray his own.

All of these folks have lived for centuries, ever willing to betray ANYONE, even their own close kin, for money or power or simply to survive.

Enough money, and a new identity should buy us some help. Sooner or later.

Good article. Looks like if we can't penetrate Pakistan with intelligence we might have to penetrate them with bombs. Hmmm. The Pakis have moved a lot of their troops away from the border with Afghanistan to defend their border with India. We could waltz right in through an open door and then let India be the second half of a nutcracker type attack.

I'm worried about the fanatics getting their greasy mitts on those Paki nukes. In my opinion it is fairly obvious that we have to do something about this before that happens. We need to get preemptive the way Dubya told the West Point cadets. I'd like to see Bush sweet talk Musharaff into letting us "see" the nukes to "reassure" us that the radicals don't control them and then go in and take them away or destroy them in place. Then India could sort the Pakis out without fear of being nuked.

>Westerners cannot visit the cinder-block, mud-brick side of the Muslim world—whence bin Ladin's foot soldiers mostly come— without announcing who they are. No case officer stationed in Pakistan can penetrate either the Afghan communities in Peshawar or the Northwest Frontier's numerous religious schools, which feed manpower and ideas to bin Ladin and the Taliban, and seriously expect to gather useful information about radical Islamic terrorism—let alone recruit foreign agents.

We don't need to go there. Just keep the third world out of here. The true base of terrorist operations is the US, UK and Europe. Without the little Palestines here, Bin Laden can do nothing.
