Rush Clip Endorsing Dubya's New Cabinet Dept. on Tom Brokaw NBC Nightly News (Opening the Show)
MSNBC ^ | June 6, 2002 | Tom Brokaw

Posted on 06/06/2002 7:08:33 PM PDT by codebreaker

I was surfing the dial during the nightly newscasts looking for details on our Presdients speech tonight and lo and behold Tom Brokaw in the first 5 minutes had video from the Rush cam and audio of Rush enorsing Dubya's actions like that was a stamp of approval from the grass roots.

I have never seen Rush featured so prominently before on a nightly newscast, is this the result of the heat we here at FR have been bringing down on El Rushbo since his Bush bashing Monday?

I honestly can't remember Rush making the evening newscasts ever since the 'hate radio' debates of 1995-and does he speak for us as a whole most of the time?

You're clueless for a number of reasons. First, Rush wasn't "bashing" Bush on Monday. He was being true to conservative (NOT Republican) principles. Which is more than can be said for Shrub.

Second, the only reason the mainstream media would mention Bush and Rush in the same sentence would be to try to paint Bush as a right-wing extremist. It has nothing whatsoever to do with what some clueless FReepers may or may not have done.

Rush apparently has some relationship with Lisa Meyers-this is her 3rd mention of him,the last 2 or 3 weeks. She was in Fla interviewing him on something a few weeks ago,it was on NBC Nightly News and I swear,if you offered me a million dollars, I could not remember what the piece was about.

I would call the 'AlGore' editorial on his site Bush Bashing.

But Rush modified his position the next day, so no hard feelings.

Thanks for the tip, it probably was Lisa Myers.

The web cam footage was grainy but it was definitely Rush!!

I think it has more to do with competing against O'Reilly than it does about Dubya.

Rush does this so people will be excited about listening to his show, and that's allright.

Who came up with the term "Homeland Security". Sounds like something right out of Nazi Germany.

I wonder if NBC had permission from Rush Limbaugh before they lifted his video cam clip and audio. Hope Rush gets royalties from NBC.

Gee, I wonder if Brokaw is paying 24/7 Membership fees.

I think you're on to something. Rush has been all over the map lately. Retracting positions more than little tommy daschle.

Actually, after reading your post, a small inkling might be Brokaw trying to get a little more mainstream. Rush is immensely popular and they all know it.

I'll bet Lisa Myers had it approved, the clip was very pro-Dubya-perhaps this was attempt to 'smooth the waters' with the White House after Monday.

It seemed from my viewpoint that the vast majority here at FR supported Limbaugh's posture.

Oh, too bad. You're several months late with the "nazi"/Homeland Security crap. It's already been said a zillion times, but congratulations on being the first malcontent to invoke the world's laziest comparison on this thread.

You automatically lose. Try being more creative next time.

I am not a goose stepping nationalist yet. The jury is still way out on this administration. When we don't even have the guts to get rid of a huge terrorist like Yasser Arafat, I say the war on terrorism may soon become a war on our freedom. The bad guys are in the Middle-East, not in America. Let's keep our priorities and focus in the right place. We don't need a huge new agency to rid ourselves of a hand full of Islamic fanatics in this country. A properly run FBI can easily handle that job. Take the war to the enemies turf, not ours. It seems we are doing all the reforms in this country. I want to see reforms in Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.
